[LISTEN] Holy Esque - Addicted Lovers (Robert Palmer Cover)

Holy Esque have unveiled their version on Robert Palmer's "Addicted Lovers", which acts as a follow-up to their debut album "At Hope's Ravine". And perhaps you might have guessed, it's got a very 80's feel to it with some deep and heavy synths paving the way.

"We have always trodden carefully in the realm of song covers." explains frontman Pat Hynes. "The idea of working on someone else's track before perfecting our own seemed strange and initially unappealing, but when the idea arose to interpret 'Addicted To Love' we really enjoyed the process. It's a dark and somewhat sleazy track with a sense of sex appeal and fun. We love the original and thought we could show a lighter side of the band through this '80s hit. I think we have achieved that and we may even feature the song in a few special upcoming shows."

Anteros share video for latest single, "Breakfast"

Anteros have recently just come off a support tour with High Tyde, and they tore it up, and the corner-stone of their live show was this track, "Breakfast". When I saw them live I instantly thought of Blondie, not because of a blonde female fronting the band but they sound exactly like what Blondie would sound like if they started up in the 2010's.

With Annie Mac already going mad for them it's just going to be a short while until everyone notices them, the video for "Breakfast" is below.

The band are slowly maturing into a force to be reckoned with on the indie-pop scene, watch out The 1975 and Bad Suns!

Sameblod release new track "My Fortune"

Things like this is why I love blogging, today a band I never heard of before had a new track, that band turned out to be Sameblod and since listening to their new track "My Fortune", and it sounds like New Order versus Years & Years.

Uplifting melodies, a 90's feel to the synthesisers, airy vocals and a sound that's long lasting, you're going to be hitting the play button again after listening to this one!

New Motion share new track "She Said"

After some great response from their début track a few weeks ago, New Motion are back with another track from their début EP - "Anyway" - which is out via Tidal Records on 30th March. This track is less poppy than the EP's title track, but still has the 80's vibe, reminding us of The Police's material.
