You'd be stupid to think if The Hunna wouldn't mean business in 2016, and two days in they've dropped a surprise single via soundcloud. Pitching in at 3 tracks long, it features "We Could Be" with two b-sides "Be Young" and "World Is Ours", and gets to show us the other side of the band.
Even on the slower songs the band can't help but turn them into pulsating anthems, here's to 2016, cheers The Hunna!

[LISTEN] The Maccabees - Something Like Happiness
The Maccabees have revealed a brand new track from their forthcoming album "Marks To Prove It", and it's laden with horns more than anything. A very relaxed track from a band that's known for massive anthematic hits and out and out stadium fillers.
The album ‘Marks To Prove It" is out July 31st via Fiction Records.

"I had the great pleasure of working with a director called Charlie Robins on this one. We went out towards Brighton and made a great racket with fireworks and chased the daylight until it disappeared in a field by a gorgeous lake. I really hope you like it. It feels like I've finally found what I've been looking so hard for."

Sounds of 2015 - #11 - As Elephants Are
Last year As Elephants Are made a similar position in our sounds of 2014 leading to a year for the boys from Bucks that continued to see them grow. It was last year's 'Crystal' which stole our hearts and that of TV backing tracks. This year though, they've been able to sing their own praises through one of the most consistent debut EPs, 'Hand Prints - EP'. Title track 'Hand Prints' is a twinkling sensation, whilst 'Kingdom' delivered the bands biggest sound to date, with a deeper, more euphoric plunge into the songbook.
With their second EP, 'Crown', being released earlier this week, As Elephants Are have revealed more dimensions to them. The wiry vocals of Ben Stratford continue to be as catchy as ever and a re-issue of one of their first tracks, 'War Cry', which is just as captivating as it was in 2012.
There's no doubt they'll keep touring and adding to their modest fan base. Will 2015 finally see an album from one of the most promising new sounds around? We'll have to wait and see.

Track of the week... SHEIKH - FONDA
Sheikh are a fresh new band hailing from Bahrain and are now residing in London, they bring with them their first ever song titled "FONDA", it's got everything you want from a band's first song, energy, anthematic guitars and catchy as heck grooves and lyrics. Their sound can be compared to The Maccabees crossed with Bombay Bicycle Club, and that's no coincidence.
"FONDA" was produced with the Grammy winning producer Ian Dowling (Jungle, Bombay Bicycle Club, Catfish & The Bottlemen ) which is due to be released in January 2015. Following a run of fervent rehearsals and reckless initiations at their rehearsal space in Shepherd's Bush, the attention surrounding the band has promptly started to rise. They're bursting onto the scene at the right time, could the UK music scene be given a new lease of life by some Bahrainis with sun-kissed guitars? Well their country already has one big attraction, the F1 race in the desert, and possibly as of 2015 a band that's going to be a household name in years to come!
