[LISTEN] The Neighbourhood - Prey

Ahead of the release of The Neighbourhood's sophomore album "Wiped Out!" (or third if you include their 'mixtape' LP), the band has released another new track "Prey." The track was premiered last night on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show.

It's the third song to be revealed from "Wiped Out" after "R.I.P 2 My Youth" and "The Beach" and it's a sincere cut, while also perhaps more rock-tinged than some of the group's other recent offerings. The album is out on the 30th of October.

[LISTEN] The Neighbourhood - The Beach

I love The Neighbourhood, and always have since before the first EP was released. Their new track "The Beach" can quite easily be their best yet, the most chilled out one and the one with the biggest atmosphere since "Alleyways" was released on their début LP.

We've alreayd heard the stunning "R.I.P 2 My Youth" and thus far it's sounding like that their new album is going to be a contender for album of 2015!

The Weekly Catch-Up (w/e 6th September)

So here we are, again. The past 7 days has been one of the best since I've started this site, no kidding either! We've got a smorgasbord of the best new music, from The Neighbourhood to Interpol, and everything inbetween!

Interpol

The Neighbourhood - H8M4CH1N3

The Neighbourhood unveil new track"H8M4CH1N3" - or "Hate Machine" if you can see past the 90's texting words. The song has been taken from the forthcoming release "#000000 & #FFFFFF" - which is out soon, but you can already download some new material here.

Saint Raymond - Luna

Saint Raymond's cover of "Luna", originally by Bombay Bicycle Club, was recorded in session for Phil Taggart from Maida Vale on 28th of August 2014, and now the new star of upbeat Indie music has uploaded it, check it out below!

Kleerup - Let Me In (feat Susanne Sundfør)

Kleerup, the multi award winning and celebrated Swedish producer today unveils a brand new single and two mini albums. First single "Let Me In" is a bonafide disco inspired Abba-esque stomper featuring Susanne Sundfør (M83, Bjork and Röyksopp) and perfectly sets the tone for his remarkable forthcoming mini album "As If We Never Won" coming October 13th through Warner Music.

The Neighbourhood - Warm

Following the drop of his self-released début "Indigo Child", Raury has teamed up with established rockers The Neighbourhood for a slow-burning collaboration. You can check out the latest track from the band's 'Mixtape Album' below, it's so far shaping up to be a brilliant LP!

COMPNY - Something Had To Give

Here we have COMPNY's new single, they're a band that are keeping the mystery alive, and we're also digging their new track "Something Had To Give", it's got a sense of an upbeat Coldplay and Bombay Bicycle Club about them! Anyway, below is the track, and enjoy!

Cathedrals - In The Dark

The San Francisco band have uploaded a brilliant anthem that can easily make you turn up your speakers, even in the middle of the night! With some great guitar hooks, deep bass and stunning vocals, it looks like things for them are going to turn good!

Travi$ Scott - Drive (The 1975 remix)

Released as a limited free download, The 1975’s reworking of Travi$ Scott’s ‘Drive’, was born from a hazy meeting after the Manchester band’s Coachella show and a mutual appreciation for each other’s music.

Interpol - The Depths

New York based Post-punk-revival band - Interpol - announced their 'comeback' album, "El Pintor", and it's the first as a trio since the departure of their bassist, and today we're VERY pleased to share with you a bonus iTunes download only track called "The Depths". If we're quite honest, I have no idea how this didn't make it onto the standard LP! Scroll down to enjoy, you know the drill!

Christian Rich - Real Love

LA-based DJ and production duo Christian Rich, AKA twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan. Christian Rich recently contributed to the #1 Billboard albums for Drake, J Cole and Childish Gambino, as well as producing 4 tracks for Earl Sweatshirt's #1 Rap Billboard album, "Doris". "Real Love" is a beautiful track from their début EP "SS14" and we are so excited to give it to you today ... FOR FREE!

Superfood - Lily For Your Pad To Rest On

The Birmingham band have announced details of their Autumn UK Tour this week, but also details of their forthcoming début album and a new track to go with it, "Lily For Your Pad To Rest On", listen to it below!

The Naked and Famous - The Fall (The 1975 Remix)

It's been nearly a year since The 1975 have been a #1 artist, and since then the band has turned their hands to remixing songs, with their own distinctive sounds too. The airy, anthematic and laid back sound of The 1975 overflows into their remixes too. Credit where credit is due, the band is VERY consistent!

10 Acts We're Excited To See At Reading 2014

We love the Reading Festival, and since we first went there we believe that this is one of the strongest line-ups in recent years! So we've got TEN of the best acts you just have to watch over the three days in late August.

Darlia

The band have had a tremendous start to the year with BBC Radio 1, NME and XFM picking up on them early on. After a tremendous set at Glastonbury where Nathan completely ruined his guitar by smashing it like an axe be sure to expect an explosive set from the trio!

Sivu

Cambridgeshire resident James Page is certainly a favourite of ours, a hard-worker who is reaping the rewards of persistence. With a tour supporting Marika Hackman already sorted he will be wowing the crowd in the Festival Republic tent, with vocals like his you have to see him before he gets massive!

Arctic Monkeys

The Monkeys will be headlining Reading the festival once again, first in 2009 in support of their album "Humbug", but this time round they're even bigger and after playing two massive shows at Finsbury Park you should expect big hits, big quiffs and even bigger sing-a-longs!

The Neighbourhood

Having graced the smaller venues of London and the rest of the UK back in 2012 and in 2013, the Californian band are set to play their first Reading Festival and we can't help but be excited! Their album "I Love You" came out in 2013 and expect to see them play their massive summer anthems "Sweater Weather" and "Female Robbery" in a field near you!

Marika Hackman

Marika is on the same label as The 1975 and Little Comets, but that's where the comparisons to said bands end, her stunning vocals and stage presence have got her adoring fans all over the world and 2014 sees her play her first set at Reading Festival, expect some heart-warming vocals and silky smooth keys!

Wolf Alice

Having achieved a strong fan-base off the back of a folky EP the band then supported Peace in 2012 as they started to take shape, two EP's later and we see them signed to Dirty Hit with an album in the pipeline, with fellow label mates being played in the charts expect some anthematic choruses from Ellie and co!

Don Broco

Having played back in 2012 and 2013 there's no wonder why the boys are back in 2014. Their live shows are well known to be one of the best around and the dance to their song "Priorities" that they do always puts a smile upon the face of anyone in the crowd!

Jungle

A band that around three months ago played behind a wash of lights, with no sight of a band-member have since then gone on to perform LIVE on American television and perform at Glastonbury and a whole host of other festivals. But their set at Reading 2014 we're looking forwards to as we know it'll make the tent move and groove! Watch them perform below and thank me after!

The Wytches

A band that has released material on Luv Luv Luv's sister label Hate Hate Hate, their now on Heavenly Recordings and will be performing tracks from their forthcoming album. Their tight live performances have got them rave reviews from fans and critics. With their Reading festival appearance coming up this'll be a band you have to see early on in the day!

She's played the 'new music' festivals this year, SXSW in Austin, Texas, USA and The Great Escape in Brighton but now is the step-up for the Swedish powerhouse singstress. And expect a cover of a Spice Girls song in the set too, trust me, it's actually one of the best songs of her set!

10 Of The Best Tracks We Heard This Week (w/e 1st June)

The weekly look back at the weeks best tracks of the week post is back for another week. I think I need to mention last week once more... ANYWAY - Here's a quick catch up if you've been away for the past seven days.

Some tracks from big bands, new finds and some sexy remixes are all included!

JAWS

Colleagues - Tears

Sometimes we're disappoints when we hear a band for the first time, but today we were simply blown away by Colleagues' latest track "Tears". It's got a summer anthem written all over it with uplifting guitar riffs and bright drum beats. The single "Tears / Parents House" is out NOW!

Band of Skulls - Hoochie Coochie (Dan Auerbach Mix)

Dan Auerbach who has produced the new Lana Del Rey album no less has also given Band of Skulls' "Hoochie Coochie" a remix, with a BIG Black Keys sounding twist on it. The track is featured on the band's new "Hoochie Coochie" EP which will be out on July 27th.

Lovestarrs - Bullet

The trio who have shaken off the moniker of The Good Natured have revealed their second proper single, "Bullet". After releasing "Get Your Sexy On" earlier this year and along with demos "Lovers" and "Stupid Cupid", and the band are certainly on the rise again and are set to be dominating in 2015 if they continue along these lines!

The "Supernova" EP is out August 5th via LAB Records.

Darlia - Dear Diary

The Blackpool threesome are back with a brand new single, and once again it's a three minute epic filled with big choruses, bold riffs and laden with Natahan's snarling vocals. It's due for release via B-Unique on 7th of July and will once again be out on vinyl and digital (links below).

It's their most ambitious song yet and will certainly reach out to the masses, with lots of people jumping on-board after their BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend performance. Enough rambling, click PLAY below!

The Subways - My Heart Is Pumping To A Brand New Beat

"My Heart Is Pumping To A Brand New Beat" is to be released on June 23rd. The single is the band's first for 18 months and is going to be released to mark 10 years since they won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition as an unsigned act, all aged just 17.

The band are also set to play the main stage at Glastonbury this year as well as Hurricane, Southside and Camden Rocks.

The Neighbourhood -  Jealou$y (feat. Casey Veggies & 100s)

The Neighbourhood are releasing their mixtape album soon - we still haven't seen a release date as of yet - and their latest track to come out on the depths is "Jealou$y", a RnB heavy track with some of The Neighbourhood's unique sounds incorporated too.

Kasabian - Bumblebee

This song was premiereed on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, it's the second studio track we've heard and we're now getting excited for the album! Scroll on down to check it out in it's (radio hissing) glory.

Wolf Alice - Moaning Lisa Smile

Wolf Alice last week released their third EP- "Creature Songs" - and now we can watch a video for the lead single, "Moaning Lisa Smile". The video follows Ellie wanting to be in a dancing group but getting shunned by types, but she finds friends in a circle that lets her be herself - keep an eye on the girls in her dance-group, it's the other band members in drag!

Jaws - Be Slowly

We're really excited to hear that the foursome from Birmingham will be finally releasing their début album on September 15th via their long-standing label Rattlepop. The album will only include three songs they've previous released, and one of them being a demo, will ensure that the band will be releasing a really fresh album. You can check out the title track below!

Warpaint - Ashes To Ashes

Warpaint last week played their set at Spain's biggest music festival - Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. They performed a great set, but one thing stood out, their cover of David Bowie's classic track "Ashes To Ashes". The video we had up has been taken down, but check out a studio version below.

10 Of The Best Tracks We Heard This Week (Up to 26th April)

In a new weekly feature that will go out on every Saturday, we round up TEN of the best tracks we've heard this week, weather it be tracks we've heard on soundcloud, tracks we've blogged about or simply demos and new tracks we've been sent. In no particular order they are ...

Delphic - Colours Of The Day

It's a part of their new 'Mixtape' called "Get Familiar", which consists of 7 new tracks over the course of 29 minutes. "Colours Of The Day" was previously a one minute track on their page two years ago and it's great to finally hear the full version. Skip to roughly 14 minutes into the mixtape to check it out.

It's also free to download - see the soundcloud stream below!

In Golden Tears - Pray

It's the last song we are every going to hear from the band, for why? They announced earlier this week that they'll be splitting up and "Pray" is the last track on the "Farewell EP". Their last show is on May 23rd in Hamburg - which we are flying out to - and "Pray" is forever going to be a track we cherish as we've heavily supported the band for a long time. It's everything they're about, a great way to end their career together.

It's also free to download - see the soundcloud stream below!

Bambi - Sheltered Eyes

Bambi - the Camden band - have revealed a brand new song called "Sheltered Eyes" this week, nad we've warmed to it so much that we're going to be featuring it a lot more in the coming week - hint hint #TOTW. It's got such a drive behind it, soaring guitars, atmospheric sounds and warming vocals, certainly one for the summer. And certainly one we've been playing a lot this week!

It's also free to download - see the soundcloud stream below!

The Away Days - Your Colour

The track is yet unreleased but we've been given a sneaky listen to the Istanbul band's latest single and it's one for the summer time for sure! They're playing the Kitsune party in Istanbul on May 17th and they'll be supporting Portishead and Savages on August 20th too. You can check out a 'teaser' for their song "Sleep Well" below - just to give you a flavour of their sound!

Jamie XX - Girl

There's no hiding it, Jamie XX is going to be bigger than his other project - err The XX - very soon, especially when he's producing tracks such as "Girl". Girls," a comparatively upbeat track that really complements the other track on his next single - "Sleep Sounds"- which is out on a double A-side 12-inch out May 7 via Young Turks.

The Neighbourhood - Lurk

The Californian band are back, but this time with a twist. After releasing an amazing EP a few years back they made a record last year that I have to admit, was the best LP I hear all year round! But the band have kept on writing and have got their creative juices flowing one more with their latest release. It's a mixtape called  "#000000 & #FFFFFF" (Black and White for those who're not familiar with the coding).

You can download the track by clicking into this link -- > HERE

Haus - Green

The Indie-Pop band who are based in and around North London have uploaded a track they recorded last year. Titled "Green" it really showcases the bands energy and really captures their live performances well, and yes, once again it's a free download. How nice of them!

As Elephants Are - Went Wrong

When I first heard this song it was called "Taxi Orgy", maybe the risqué name was changed so it was more radio friendly, but when we heard the full version a few days back we got seriously excited for their début EP. Their "Hand Prints" EP is out on the 5th of May, not long now!

Nelson-Type - Daydreams

We found their song "Daydreams" literally by stumbling on another song on soundcloud and this just so happened to be on the 'recommended' list. By the way, that's one of the best ways to discover bands effortlessly, you do find some absolute gems such as this one. The upbeat track from the Buffalo band was uploaded a month ago, but we've been seriously into it this week.

It's also a free download, click the download button in the post yea!

Layla - Black Mud

Layla has revealed a brand new song only just two days ago, but even so we've fell in love with the piano lead, pull-on-your-heartstrings title track from her EP. The track was even produced and mixed by our good old pal Ant West. You can pre-order the EP here! It's out Monday, but do give "Black Mud" a listen to, it's simply stunning, and jaw dropping beautiful, her vocals are just perfect!
