Get People seem to be relentless in making music, we've got yet another free download curtsey of the band. This is their latest song 'Cupid's Curse', it didn't feature on their latest EP but may give you an idea of what an album would sound like.
Get People have their Ep launch today, and to celebrate this we're giving away a free mp3. This new song called 'Grove' is taken off that EP. It's a haunting synthy track filled with acid and nightmares. This is something you'd want to put on in the dead of night, just spellbinding!
It’s Friday (well Saturday now...), and ourselves and Slate The Disco have gone for a sunny theme to this week’s Friday’s Finest!
Slate The Disco: Civil Love – ‘Teenage Love’ It doesn’t get much sunnier than the charming indie pop of Civil Love. Civil love are a four piece band based in Peckham, drawing members from around the world they give a diverse and unique sound firmly rooted in sunshine and melody. Defined by humble yet powerful vocals and chiming guitars ‘Teenage Love’ is our pick of their new EP.
It’s All Indie: Peace – ‘Li’l Echo’ After getting the 7″ of their latest single in the post yesterday I’ve been playing ‘Li’l Echo’ constantly! The track was recorded in Red Bull Studios and once again, this is a track that really stands out from all of the others Peace have recorded. They change the style of their songs yet always manage to keep the imagination of the listener.
Slate The Disco: Little Comets – ‘Jennifer’ Following their acclaimed ‘Worry’ EP released in December, Little Comets are set to return to the fold next month with vibrant new single ‘Jennifer’, released on June 11th. Filled with twiddly guitar bits and high vocals, it’s another blissful indie summer piece.
It's All Indie: Get People – ‘Something Better’ Get People’s new EP entitled ‘Harmonize’ is out next month, it’s being released on tastemaker label Luv Luv Luv Records and they’re currently streaming their new single ‘Something Better’ which you can listen to below!
Unanimous: Morning Parade - Gold On The Ceiling With their album coming out in the USA soon three of the band have been out in the States playing some acoustic songs, and they had the time to cover this beaut!
This track was initially released February but as I've been on a Get People binge as of late I've recently found this hidden away on their Soundcloud account. It's one of the best remixes they've got and the glitchy electronics going off in the background really bring a new perspective to the song.

The electro-tropical band are currently on a tour across the UK. They've just re-released a free download on their website; 'Macaw' is their latest recording and it's a great statement of intent, this lovely chilled out Tropical just hits the spot on this crisp morning.
Morning Parade are finally releasing their début album after nearly four years as a band, the album is self titled and will feature one of their signature tracks, 'Under The Stars'. This is a remix done by the great guys at Get People who we also love! It's a free download so why not get ready for Morning Parades album by downloading this!
The trio from London have had a wonderful success that has gone down to their début single and EP, and they seem to be sitting on more gold with the release of 'Macaw'.
This song will be off their new EP - which is still untitled - which is due out early next year. The EP should once again be some sort of Cosmo-Pop / Tropical-Dub atmoshperic ear delight. As you may know I love this band ever since I saw them open up for Friendly Fires in Heaven earlier this year. The new EP should be stunning based on this track alone!
Picking up where last year’s Careless/Odyssey double A-side left off, Get People’s sophomore EP release Rain Tears is another slice of infectious, intelligent pop music. Rain Tears will be released on Friends vs Records on July 11th 2011.
Rain Tears: Starts off with a strong tribal feel to it, technical drumming follows and the vocals come in over the top, lots of cool effects are used in the track throughout it. One bit of the track I like is when it drops at 1.02 then the song really starts to bounce with a superb drum sample that is verging on dub. This is a great opening track to say the least Out of 10: 7/10
Away: Starts off with a more traditional feel, with a Guitar and the Drums, but still with that weird electronic madness Get People are known for. The vocal effects on this track are second to none. But one thing that gets this track for me is the chorus. "You couldn't disappoint me more, you lay yourself out to be tall, the body's lost and so's the war, away, away". That alone raises the track, but one thing that makes this track even better is how the track drops and then creeps back into life after a break of Tropical and Tribal sounds. Out of 10: 9/10
Lonely Game: The slow track on the EP, but this doesn't mean it's the worst, not by a long shot. The calming melodies and 'gentle on the ears' synths and keys just lull you into an amazing song! A child's nursery rhyme is mentioned in the chorus "Rain rain go away" but I love them for that, bringing something of the familiar into a brand new light. Out of 10: 9/10
Colour: Guitars and wooing greet us into this track. But unlike the others the guitar stays for a bit more, I've said this before but the strange samples of glass breaking, rain drops and what sounds like birds tweeting are used to great effect. This is the closes they have verged into dub-step, but if you whack your speakers up I am sure you will be able to hear it, it's a fast track that I would love to hear live. Out of 10: 8/10

The tribal-infused, dance pop produced by the London trio, comprised of Dom, Caspar and Martin, is perfectly placed to do well this summer on the back of plaudits from Radio 1, The Fly, XFM and Music Week, alongside a huge amount of blog hype via Abeano, My Band is Better Than your Band and Illegal Tender. Their unique remixes of other artists, including Is Tropical, Mystery Jets, Morning Parade and The Wombats, have also seen the band featured by Rob Da Bank and released by Kitsuné. Only existing for just over a year, the band’s immediate success and depth of vision is impressive to say the least.
The enveloping haziness of the EP’s eponymous lead track is both elegiac and danceable, a clear demonstration of the band’s ability to create tropical, club-worthy tunes with an emotionally-charged basis. Across the record’s remaining three tracks, Get People perfectly fuse dance, indie and world influences, bringing to life a sound awash in marimbas, synths and tape loops. Expect a review from me in the coming days!
