South Pacific' is Is Tropical's attempt at radio-friendly synth anthem. They are going for a epic song with such a tight chorus. With the amazing rhythms and the pure danceability of their tracks, Is Tropical sound a bit like The Klaxons, who have also released an album this year to cash-in on the 80s revival.



Is Tropical seem to be aiming to strike a very fine balance here, pitching themselves between dark, fuzzy lo-fi and easy-going pop. They come close to hitting that point too. There are some fine moments though, such as the bass and that shows what Is Tropical are capable of. And from there, the song drifts into its final chorus, in which all the elements are in place.
