Single Review... Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down Cause I've Moved Your Chair

The album’s exhaustively-titled first official single is a solid improvement on 'Brick by Brick'. The lads from Sheffield have grown up from their pop(ish) beginnings of 'Well I Bet That You Look Good On The Dance Floor' and embraced the fact that they’re now men. Making harder rock that would have been unimaginable 10 years ago.



In the Zane Lowe interview on which the song premiered, Alex Turner mentioned that Suck It And See will be a blend of all of the band’s past works. I think this is only the second Arctic Monkeys track I actually loved on first listen. Is this a breakthrough? Maybe not, I need to hear the album to distinguish that. But so far so good.
