EP Review... Vices - Hotel Monsoon

Vices are a band we've known about for a while now, after spending some time in America recording they're now back in the home-land. They've got a brand new EP out, and it's completely free to download from their soundcloud site, but what's more is that it's even better than we thought it would be!

The opening two tracks really take you in, 'Dying Day' is the radio friendly song off the EP and with the strange guitar riffs, the percussion in the background and the vocals will bring in any fan of Art-Rock into the EP, yes it may be 'Alternative' but there is something special here. The second song is the slow long song, sitting at over five minutes it sounds like the perfect combination on Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead. Very British!

As you get into the EP you find 'Deep Rivers', it opens with a odd combination of guitar tones, nothing crazy, but something ambitious. Vices are ones not to copy other bands, they like doing things their own way and making something sound interesting without being boring, this track is another qwerky track to get into! The EP ends on 'Being Human' and their epic closer 'Hotel Monsoon', this EP has been more than just a listen, it's been an adventure. You can listen to the whole EP within this post, and download it too!
