However, during a fan Q&A session that the singer recently took part in for official fan site, 'True To You', Morrissey revealed that he and his backing band are about to return to the studio and record a new album - with one particular new song, entitled 'Istanbul', already guaranteed a place on the albums track-listing."Well, we are about to record our new album, and one of the tracks is called 'Istanbul' he said. Adding to this further, Morrissey then went on to explain the reason behind the track: ''It is second to Rome as my most favorite city in the world. When I'm in Istanbul I feel as if I could never die. My life is matched."

New album but no new interest in re-uniting The Smiths |
After the pure illation of exclusively finding out about his new album though, fans taking part in the same Q&A session were soon hit with an ounce of despair after the idea of The Smiths re-uniting was once again, yet suspectedly, dismissed: "As an entity, I have no interest in the Smiths, so as long as I’m not asked about the Smiths, I won’t slip into permanent unconsciousness. And that’s a promise."
Although there are currently no concrete dates set for the release of Morrisseys new album, it is heavily rumoured to hit the shelves in late 2014.
