The Ting Tings return with disco-influenced single "Wrong Club"

With the news of The Kooks return earlier in the news, it's fitting that The Ting Tings make their comeback this year to keep the nostalgia flowing. Their debut album 'We Started Nothing' was highly successful in 2008 and sparked the hits 'That's Not My Name', 'Shut Up and Let Me Go' and 'Fruit Machine' whilst picking up an Ivor Novello award along the way. Six years later, it's very easy to not think much of The Ting Tings after an identity crisis second album that didn't create half the buzz the first album generated. It's surprising but nice to say the indie pop duo are back with a disco stormer entitled 'Wrong Club'.

Off the success of Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, the hype around disco and funk has become an increasing trend that this single has definitely latched on to. Written and recorded in an old Spanish finca on the Ibizan hills, 'Wrong Club' is the first track to be taken from their forthcoming third album is of the same name and channels a lot of Nile Rodgers-influenced guitars. Along with the help of Duran Duran's very own Andy Taylor who co-produced the album, Wrong Club is 'about feeling like you don't fit in - finding someone you can leave with - finding someone like you - finding someone who likes you - even if you can't dance like the rest'.

Out of 10: 7.5/10

The single will be released on July 28th
