Introducing... Family of the Year

They don’t want to be a “Hero” or so they say in their correspondent single. Finally, someone is in the opposition to the singing Latino lover boy. And by doing so, Family of the Year is in a very good position.

The four-piece band from Los Angeles makes mostly American based indie rock, however the singer Joseph Keefe and his drumming brother Sebastian originally spent their teenage years in Wales which might be audible in one line or the other. With their male/female vocals they sound like a combination of The Shins and Lady Antebellum making their style quite a bit country. Their latest album “Loma Vista” came out in 2012 and has made its way through television series such as “Being Human”, “Suburgatory” and “Degrassi” ever since. With their male/female vocals they sound like a combination of The Shins and Lady Antebellum making their style quite a bit country. I don’t know if they are the “Family of the Year” as they are not the Kellys or someone like that (thankfully!), however, they definitely are a band to keep watching.
