It’s spooky time again! Halloween is close as hell and we can’t wait to give you the horror of your lives. Musically there are many bloody brilliant treasures dealing with the most exciting time of the year (‘Thriller’ is indeed not the only song about monsters). In the following you find the perfect collection of creepy tunes which will spice up your very own scary party.
7) Plain White T - Pet Sematary
For the ‘Frankenweenie Unleashed’-soundtrack the five guys from Chicago covered the Ramones classic about a graveyard for the human’s dearest friends. Admittedly, nothing comes close to the original but id definitely could have been worse.
6) Stars - I Died So I Could Haunt You
This is quite an euphemistic view on death but combined with the rock tunes and the catchy synth-chorus it actually is kind of a funny song.
5) The Smiths - Cemetery Gates
These guys from Manchester must not be forgotten when planning a Halloween-party. Ironically, this tune dealing with the final rest is one of the more cheerful ones from this brilliant band.
4) The Cure - Lullaby
The video for this was considered one of the spookiest of the lovely 80s. Well…if you dare, have a look yourself, but beware: some of you might get nightmares from the view of Robert Smith covered in spider webs.
3) Karen Elson - The Ghost Who Walks
For some she is the “Queen of Creepy” and this song proves that she is at least to some extent. Enjoy the haunting arrangements and spooky vocals from this redhead.
2) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll
The title says it. There is nothing more to add.
1) Dead Man’s Bones - Pa Pa Power
It was hard to decide on only one exciting tune by this incredible duo, but the following has exactly subtle undertone which makes the difference between a good Halloween-party and a horribly good one. By the way, for those of you who haven’t recognised yet, the one of the singers of this amazing band is no one else than American actor Ryan Gosling.
