Ones to watch: 2011, Things I Never Told You

With being on tour with Kele for some of July this 3 piece band has created quite a stir, their catchy songs have transformed them from 'some support act' into something bigger! I honestly love their style and the way they come across as a band. Loads of people now love what they heard and want more. Click HERE for a live review that gives you all the reasons why you have to listen to them and see them live!

Happiness is easily my favourite track by these guys. On the mp3 it is like the bass is terrific, you can feel it when you whack your speakers up rippling through your bones, and vibrating through your cheecks, the vocals are sung from the heart as you can tell he cares about his music. Now live, imagine you intensify this, it is just brilliant to see a act who is able to create such a wonderful track and still be unsigned... so far! I have heard five of their tracks via MySpace and they are all infused with bass and funky electronic beat. I have liked everything I have heard from them and can't wait for more stuff.

Ones to watch: 2011, Them:Youth

What do you get when you cross Delphic with Pendulum? This fantastic track called 'Fever Rising' by up and coming band Them:Youth. This London 4 piece is definitely going for big anthem tunes, as you can tell from this track!Their songs have a melancholic edge, combined with an electro beat, and has some funky synths that sound like something a well known dance act should be doing, that somehow makes their songs sound more exciting every time you give it a listen.

Every few days check back to their facebookm site as they have a tendency to showcase new tracks, track of the moment I am loving is "Lost And Lonely"

Ones to watch: 2011, Neon Index

SO, with a year almost whizzing by here I am, the forefront of the blogging world predicting the bands that will impact on the 2011 musical scene. I have a true delight here for you. Neon Index, from around the Bedford/Shefford area of the country (Bedfordshire) they create Alternative/Math/Tropical/Indie music that any Foals fan would love!

I first stumbled upon them by a follower of It's All Indie on facebook contacted be about Kilto Take (see last Ones to watch post), and the lad who got in touch with me was Will Crosby. He has a band that him and three other friends play in. I thought if I believe what he says about his band I'd like them. Then they played the It's All Indie Showcase in November, I LOVED IT!

This band have a lot of attitude on stage and the perfect singing of Lana, Awesome guitar skills of Will, throbbing bass of Chris and the brilliant skills of Alex the drummer (keeping everyone in time) creates this wonderful band with a waft of Foals about them, probably due to Will being a big fan of Yannis and the effects he uses whilst playing live... Will that is.

They have two tracks on their myspace and you SHOULD check them out as they are hopefully going to record some more songs and play a lot more local gigs. Already creating quite a stir amongst their peers they should be a one to watch in 2011 as their profile will grow as they mature. Oh did I mention they are still teenagers? Watch out, they have talent, and they are young, can get better? YES! Here is to 2011 and some interesting happenings over at Neon Index.

Ones to watch: 2011, Kilto Take

SO, with a year almost whizzing by here I am, the forefront of the blogging world predicting the bands that will impact on the 2011 musical scene.

KILTO TAKE are an indie alternative rock pop band hailing from the Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire borders. The band comprising Jon Crosby (lead vocals, guitar, synths/effects), Karl Grant (bass guitar synths/effects) and Lee James Spavins (drums and percussion) joined forces to cure their musical itch and have been on the fast track to success ever since, seeing them secure a recording contract with up and coming indie label MEDICAL RECORDS just eight gigs in. KILTO TAKE has already sparked a wealth of interest amongst their peers and are set to make serious waves in 2010.

My first band I am going to devote a post to its... Kilto Take, are a band who are from Bedfordshire. They are a Indie Rock band who love to play music that gets the rhythm inside of you and blasts it with lashings of rock! I do hope they get noticed because the world deserves bands like these guys. Hanging around and lurking in the deep belly of Bedfordshire they deserve to be noticed and would do them a whole load of good, you will soon realise in this review why they are a brilliant band!

They have just released 'Ava' which is available to listen to and ultimately download on iTunes when the EP drops on the lucky land of Bedfordshire. This track coincidentally had a 9/10 score from me when I reviewed the EP. Click HERE to read it.

They are getting gigs lined up left right and centre, so be sure to see them soon as I hear they play a cover of a well known song by a well known band.

Check out this video to see why the locals love them!

Ones to watch: 2011, Ideals

London based four piece Ideals formed at as school friends in small town Ipswich in 2009. Relocating to London, they've since burnt a trail across the capital with their highly infectious Indie sound replete with epic chorus’ addictive rhythms, spiky guitars and big dreams in their hearts. Influenced by the heartbroken tunes of The Smiths, the exciting mix of bar chords and twisted melodies that characterised early Grunge, Ideals’ feet moving rhythms, catchy guitar hooks, crafty personal lyrics and soaring chorus’ draw favourable comparisons with everyone from the Maccabees and The National to White Lies and The Cure. Ideals are signed to the highly ambitious London imprint Intruder Records, who together, have mapped out a huge plan for 2011, including the release of six singles in one year!

Ideals have just recorded their next single titled 'Significant Other' which will be released initially as a free download on the 25th of December(official release 21st of February), and will be accompanied with an awesome mini film promo video to support it. This will be the first in the campaign of digital only single releases, the rest being timed at intervals of two months, each track compiled and released as limited edition fan only physical EPs every six months. Backing up this flurry of releases with a string of UK tours, support slots with acclaimed acts and festival dates, showing their hand and Ideals clear promise to put their songs into the hearts and homes of as many people as possible, the band are clearly ones to watch throughout the year, in 2011 you won’t be able to escape Ideals!

Ideals are building from an excellent base too, 2010 has been a year of steady momentum for the outfit. Following a string of talked about London gigs early in the year, the band caught the eye of legendary label Fierce Panda who subsequently selected the track 'These Seasons' to appear on their Zip It Up compilation CD, released in February 2010. Ideals have completed two UK tours in 2010 playing the length and breadth of these fair isles, playing support slots with both Pete Doherty and The Automatic along the way. In all, Ideals released four very well received singles in 2010, from the splendid début release ‘Lungs’ that helped the band secure a deal with US based synchronisation experts ‘Shout It Out Loud Music.’ To the personal anthem ‘Love Song’, through to the cascading melodies and urgent rhythms of ‘Forever Leisure’ and memorable recent free download single ‘Don’t tell anyone’ all of these are available to stream on soundcloud.

Top 5 tips for 2011

With everyone having seriously lost interest in a couple of the BBCs tips for 2010, I have 5 HOT TIPS for 2011, lets see how many until then prove themselves.

Morning Parade:
Having already mentioned them a few times on here I don't really need a introduction for them. If you are new to this then here is something to mull over. They are getting played very frequently due to having 3 MASSIVE tracks out there!

Also one track also stands out when playing live, Headlights, if they do record this this can easily be a hit, not me being optimistic but to be honest being more realistic, this hurts that people don't know them better!

Morning Parade - Youth

Things I Never Told You:
With having just came off a tour with Kele (from Bloc Party) this 3 piece band has created quite a stir, their catchy songs have transformed them from 'some support act' into something bigger! Loads of people now love what they heard and want more. Click HERE for a live review that gives you all the reasons why you have to listen to them and see them live!

The bass is hypnotising, you can feel it when you whack your speakers up rippling through your body, the vocals are sung from the heart as you can tell he cares about his music. I have liked everything I have heard from them and can't wait for more stuff.

Things I Never Told You - Life Without (Demo)

Them:Youth
What do you get when you cross Delphic with Pendulum? This fantastic track called 'Fever Rising' by up and coming band Them:Youth. This London 4 piece is definitely going for big anthem tunes, as you can tell from this track!Their songs have a melancholic edge, combined with an electro beat, and has some funky synths that sound like something a well known dance act should be doing, that somehow makes their songs sound more exciting every time you give it a listen.

Them:Youth finally announced October 2010 as the release date for their highly anticipated (possibly epic) debut album! SO that can easily launch them into 2011 with a big following, as it has proven with White Lies, La Roux, Delphic and Ellie Goulding!

Them:Youth - Halo

We Are Tokyo
With some pretty awesome free single downloads these guys have been apparently getting the eye of a few labels. And why not! the Bright Lights EP was awesome, The Best In Me single even better then came Bullets, with what it was following it was hard for the (then 4 piece band) to give the fans something better... they did it.

Bullets with its catchy hooks and electronic guitar filled chorus just makes it one of those awesome indie tracks!

We Are Tokyo - Colour Blind

Fenech-Soler
Despite them being tipped for 2010 success they haven't really done much except play shows to increase their profile. If you want to just get told what it sounds like, try Digitalism - Pogo but with a but more heart put into it, and recorded in their bedroom.

Thier latest offerings, Stop And Stare and Lies are also just as brilliant but the point of this blog is not to find the obvious bangers but to find the ones people are not aware of. Recently appraring on the latest Kitsune album you know you will hear from them one more time.

Fenech-Soler - Fashion

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THESE BANDS, AND YOU KNOW WHERE YOU HEARD THEM FIRST! CHECK BACK EVERY DAY FOR MORE UNSIGNED BANDS, UNDER THE RADAR INDIE AND THE NEXT BEST THING!

IT'S ALL INDIE!
