Manchester based Fairchild have today revealed a funky new track called "Neighbourhoods". The latest effort from the six piece is a psychy new track with licks of new-wave and alt-pop, and the band have not forgotten their roots here either with some great breakdowns and a layer of sonic sounds.
Fairchild’s "Neighbourhoods" is released on 19th April via Canvas Sounds.
Fairchild's UK Dates
May
5th – The Black Heart, London
7th – The Night 7 Day Café, Manchester

City Calm Down cover Foals' "Spanish Sahara" for Triple J
We all know about Foals and how their covers are spectacular, but here's one for you. City Calm Down popped into Triple J in Australia and have covered the Oxford band's live centre-piece and best track ever (as far as I'm concerned), "Spanish Sahara".
They've kept the atmosphere and have added some deep and bold vocals as well as some brass sections, this is a cover up there with the best!

[LISTEN] Why We Run - A Moment To Return
Number #2 of my 'Why you don't have to be a sheep to find good music' posts... it's Why We Run's very melodic track "A Moment To Return". The Sydney band have a début album out in April 2016 and this feels like a great track to start things off with!
The song was produced by Wayne Connolly - who's had a hand in Cloud Control's work - and it's one of the freshest tracks to come out of Australia since Fairchild and Kagu released material earlier on in the year.

[LISTEN] Mìo - Neverland (feat.Le Pie)
Dream-Pop is a particularly apt tag for the latest offering from Australian production duo Mìo, considering its title Neverland. With misty production, hints of tribal drums and sugary guest vocals from fellow Aussie Le Pie, imagine an early M83 demo combined with the melodies of Say Lou Lou's more recent singles.
"Everyone's working out, staying in.... I don't want to grow up now, meet me in Neverland. I'll be here living life, making out with Peter Pan."
Perhaps the beauty of Neverland, with its hooky chorus and distinct lyrics, is that it isn't trying to be something it's not. This is especially true when considering the vibe of Mìo's debut song Back To You; a bass-heavy, moodier, Massive Attack-esque track with Swedish vocalist Erik Lindestad that shows their ability to mix light with dark. In any case, it's well worth checking out both tracks below on their soundcloud.

[LISTEN] Splashh - Pure Blue
The Australian Surf-Rock band are touring with Peace around the UK in the coming month, but before that they've revealed a stream of their new track "Pure Blue", and it's the first insight to their follow-up album to 2013's "Comfort".
"Pure Blue" sounds like a transitional track, while they've left behind some elements of their last LP behind they've kept the big ass guitars and have now added a few glitchy cues to it, more ambitious sounding synths and a driving bassline! The single is out tomorrow - 18th of September via LuvLuvLuv Records.

Slow Turismo share new track "Corners"
Slow Turismo have shared their brand new track "Corners", it's the latest single from the Melbourne band and it sees them carry on their eargasm of genre's within one track. We've got Wild Beasts falsetto in there, with Animal Kingdom style guitar draped over it, with some of Foals' synths hidden in the background. We need to find a new genre for this band!
