Having just released their début album, the Newcastle based band have uploaded their track "Whispers" to soundcloud, and you can check it out below! They've been going for a couple or so years now and it's great that they've come back into the scene with a solid, dreamy track.

Billy Lockett is fast establishing himself as one of music's best-kept secrets. A singer-songwriter of prodigious talent hailing from Northampton, and his brand new single "Old Man" is released in September, ahead of his third headline tour of the UK.
This is one of many reasons why he has got a dedicated fan-base and has a lot of love from Radio 1 and XFM. You can scroll on down to check out the new song!
Fake Furs - Hot In Herre (Nelly Cover)
I know 'here' is spelt wrong, but what are you going to do, the track is from the early 00's, Nelly was trying to be 'hip' I guess. But Fake Furs have brought this track into 2014 and 12 years after the original track was released and the LA band have brought in some lagged angular guitar riffs, thick basslines akin to the Nelly version and some shouty vocals!

Bastille - bad_news
This is the first taste of new material from the band, after touring "Bad Blood" and tracks off of their début LP for over three years now this is a great step forwards for one of the stand-out bands of the past two years!
This is the B-Side to the "Oblivion" 7", but unlike most of the other B-Sides on their singles this is a brand new song rather an old demo. Enjoy!!!
Kasabian - Sesame Street/Good Vibrations
Kasabian have performed a mash-up of the Sesame Street theme tune with "Good Vibrations" by The beach Boys while in sessions for Australian radio station Triple J.
Tori Amos - Creep (Radiohead Cover)
We found this utter gem of a cover via Rolling Stone and is sees Tori Amos put her own sexy spin on a Radiohead classic, it is of course "Creep", a song the band don't perform any more - sadly.

Amber Run have released the video for their new single and EP title track "Pilot", the EP is out September 21st on RCA Victor. With a strong following already the band are looking to 2015 with their sights set high!

It seems that this week is collaboration week! Unicorn Kid recently got his hands on the new Polarsets single "Just Don't Open Your Eyes Yet", and put his own spin on the infectious song from the Geordie band.

You can now listen to the brand spanking track from Newcastle Indie-Popstars Polarsets. There has been a demo floating around the net, but now this single version has emerged we're excited to see the trio back to doing what they do best, creating uplifting summer tunes!
The very strangely named song (Summer Related Name) by Polarsets has been given a complete reworking of thanks to Trafik. They turn this Tropical-Indie gem into a glitchy Electro track that anyone can bounce along to!

It’s All Indie: Sketches – Lovers Liars We’ve been following Sketches for a while now, and after picking up their back catalogue last year and getting their latest single for free we had to check it out. ‘Lovers Liars’ is a great track to associate them by as this is them at their finest, the vocals, the melodies and the guitar tones are all perfect!
Slate The Disco: Ill Murray – C4 So we’ve been banging on about Ill Murray for what seems like an age now. Yes their name is brilliant but their slacker rock, post-punk sound is even better. In ‘C4’ we’re giving you a world premier of this track, pretty special. ‘C4’ will form part of their forthcoming ‘Butterscotch’ EP which is out next week.
It’s All Indie: Polarsets – Distance This young band from Newcastle creates some amazing tropical-indie sounds, far from the very stereotypical Geordie overcast drizzle. They’ve managed to brighten up our week with the release of their eagerly awaited EP, ‘Distance’ is just one of the many great tracks that they have.
Slate The Disco: Nixon – I Would Never Venture You So our first pick was a straight up roarcous affair, therefore our second pick is going to be completely different. We’ve gone for the twee indie pop stylings of Roger Gunnarsson, otherwise known as Nixon. This heart-melting number is his forthcoming 4 track EP.

Polarsets is the teaming of Rob Howe (vocals/guitar), Mickey Smith (bass/vocals) and James Rudd (drums/vocals) who first released "Morning/Sunset" just under a month ago. They rocked up to The Underground Festival full of confidence after a couple of great singles generating quite a lot of interest in them. One of those people who was really eager to see them was myself and a couple of mates who are now hooked on this band!
With a rush of drumming and samples, they kicked off the set with a very summery feel to it, this was made more apparent when they interluded their first song into 'Leave Argentina', which got the crowd bouncing up and down, it felt like the floor was going to cave in, they really got them jumping around, and considering most of the people didn't know them prior to the festival they really got them hooked onto every beat! A highlight for me was 'Morning' and 'Sunshine Eyes', which work very well together, the cowbell-esque synths, and a chorus that can rival any of the best anthems mixed in with the dance feel of 'Sunshine Eyes' really sealed the deal for me, two of their best songs after each other. My gosh they were worth the travel, I will be sure to check them out again very soon! You should too, great performance!

Following Kitsuné's release of their critically acclaimed début single ‘Sunshine Eyes' Polarsets embarked on their first Nationwide tour, garnering support from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Huw Stephens, Tom Robinson at BBC 6 music, Glastonbury festival founder Michael Eavis and Zane Lowe, who infact declared ‘Sunshine Eyes’ as his “Next Hype Track”. Prior to this the band had earned a fierce following in Newcastle, spending time putting on club-nights and spreading their word, as well as amassing support slots to Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club, Fenech Soler and Everything Everything.

They make the kind of joyous, Indie-Pop that’s not been this complete since The Sunshine Underground or even the Klaxons, although this is less experimental than the latter and more pop than the former, making them so perfectly radio friendly, yet so much fun to listen to!
Their début single with tastemaker label Kitsune, ‘Sunshine Eyes’, flashes a new scope however and reveals previously hidden potential. And their up-coming single being given a 9/10 from us be sure to keep checking back on them to see if they have exploded onto the scene, my guess... it's just a matter of time!
After the huge success of their previous single, 'Sunshine Eyes', Polarsets are set to release a new EP as a physical 7″ vinyl on Neon Gold and a digital download on Moda. Stream the new version of 'Morning and the b-side 'Sunset'. Moda have had a streak of having Electronic acts that break-through the year later, Fenech-Soler anyone!
Morning: Morning is a synth orientated song and is layered with percussion, providing a burst of Tropical and Electro euphoria. This is an updated version of the song that has been doing the rounds on the blogs lately. It's slightly longer but rammed with the same funky beats, keys and cut-up drumming. Out of 10: 9/10
Sunset: If anything the opposite of the song before it... literally! It seems like they have reversed, flipped and cut-up 'Morning' to make it sound like a homage to Everything Everything. The Synths sound like steel drums that have been distorted, the vocals seem to be darker than they sound on 'Morning' and the cowbells have a strange fade-in and out. Certenly a great track to listen to by any means! Out of 10: 9/10
