The Last Shadow Puppets cover The Beatles' "I Want You" at first show back in 8 years

The Last Shadow Puppets will be releasing their second album "Everything You've Come to Expect". Last night, they launched into their tour at Cambridge's amazing Corn Exchange venue and pulled out a cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road track "I Want You (She's So Heavy.)"

Dave Grohl performs The Beatles' "Blackbird" at 2016 Oscars

The Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl soundtracked this year's Oscars ceremony with the In Memoriam tribute with a solo acoustic performance of The Beatles' "Blackbird". David Bowie, Alan Rickman, and Leonard Nimoy were among the actors recognized in the montage.

Paul McCartney features on Kanye West's new track "Only One"

Kanye West has uploaded an emotional ballad with none other than Paul McCartney featuring on the track, but if I'm nit picking here, the Kanye vocals seem to be auto-tuned, which takes a bit away from the song. But Paul's contribution to the song is worth listening to Kanye's dreadful vocals for.

Beck covers George Harrison's "Wah-Wah"

All week, Conan is celebrating George Harrison, and to kick things off, Beck has come in to perform a great cover of George's "Wah-Wah". You can already watch the performance back below!

Also coming in this week is Paul Simon, Norah Jones, and Harrison's son Dhani.

Watch Metallica cover The Beatles "In My Life" for a fundraiser

Metallica last week were named as the last headline act for Glastonbury. With a lot of people saying that their music won't suit the festival the band have come out and said that they'll try to make it work, so could they possibly be playing covers?

One cover that would work is a cover of The Beatles' "In My Life", this was recorded last night, the band did a four-song acoustic set at the 10th Annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia.

The Beatles to headline Glastonbury as a hologram?

After seeing Coachella bringing back to life Tupac a few years back, apparently The Beatles will be brought back to life with holograms according to this post on wundergroundmusic.com - a good joke or is it legit.

I suspect it's the former of the two, but until we see anything on the Glastonbury site it's all pure speculation.

Gig Review... Arctic Monkeys @ Madison Square Garden, NYC February 8th 2014

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Arctic Monkeys play to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. Arctic Monkeys are a band that is very near and dear to my heart, so I find it hard to be objective when it comes to them. I've seen them live numerous times over the years at a variety of venues, and this was by far one of the best performances I've ever seen from them.

Arctic Monkeys have always had an interesting relationship with America. Back in 2006 when they first started touring they were the indie darlings and were selling out small venues across the country. After 2007 things died off a little and a fanbase of diehards remained. With the release of "AM" and the band finally coming into their own as a truly great live act, they've finally made a lasting impression in this country.

Selling out Madison Square Garden, a hugely famous NYC arena, shows that Arctic Monkeys have well and truly finally established themselves in America. Breaking America is hard to do for any British band, even one as talented as Arctic Monkeys. I've seen them struggle to fill a 3000 capacity venue here while selling out arenas back home in England. It's nice to see them finally achieving the success they deserve both in America and elsewhere.

While they played an electrifying set packed with hits including "Old Yellow Bricks", "Crying Lightning" and "R U Mine?", the highlight was when they opened their encore with a Beatles cover. Miles Kane had joined the band for "505" and came back out for this one as well. Alex Turner explained that since it was the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' American debut on the Ed Sullivan Show which was also in New York City, that it was only fitting that they should play a Beatles cover.

Alex joked, "Apparently one in three Americans actually watched that performance, if we're lucky one or three Americans might watch this YouTube video."

Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will perform at the closing ceremony of this year's Olympic Games.The former Beatles icon will close the Summer Games in London, confirming the news in a radio interview.
