Hurts share new video for 'Wish'

Manchester duo Hurts have released their brand new clip for piano-ballad 'Wish'. The video consists of beautifully angled shots filmed by Bryan Adams himself, combined with a simple black and white theme that ensures the lyrics can be interpreted in the best way possible.

Hurts' album 'Surrender' is released this Friday 9th October, with Wish available now when you pre-order the new LP. You can catch the band on their UK and European tour in February 2016. Check out the incredible new video below:

Haim and Hurts to feature on Calvin Harris' new album

It's Haim day today! With the recording of their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon" with the one and only Stevie Nicks - click here to listen to it - it's been announced that the sisterly trio will be featuring on Calvin Harris' new album.

Hurts première new single 'Miracle'

Hurts are releasing songs like they're going out of fashion, the latest track to be taken off their 2nd album is called 'Miracle', it harks back to the days of when the duo were in synth-pop band Daggers, this is the nearest we've heard to any proper old sounding songs, this'll surely mean the new album is going to be great!

"No love, no life, no end in sight" - It may sound like a dark lyric, but the lads have made it into an upbeat Europ-Pop song for the 21st century, you can listen to the track below!

Hurts were on the BBC Sounds of 2010 list and since then they've been doing amazing things, touring the world and having countless number one albums!

Daily Download... Daggers / Hurts - Private Life

Hurts in 2009 were just starting out but in 2008 and before Adam and Theo were both in Daggers, an 80's sounding band that the majority of Hurts fans actually love! They recorded over 30 songs (all of which I personally have). They also released a few songs as official singles, "Private Life" wasn't one of them, but you can grab it here now!

Track of the day... Hurts - Happiness

A friend sent me this track as it sadly does not appear on their debut album, of which, is called Happiness.

This track would fit in well with Better Than Love, Illuminated and Wonderful Life in the tracks that could easily be singles (Better Than Love and Wonderful Life are both singles but you know what I mean).



It starts with a funky beat with Theo's voice performing such high tone, singing 'I don't want your Happiness' and constantly singing that makes me think this song is about him rejecting someones friendship, possibly a old friend? The chorus is euphoric with the synths and keys working in harmony to produce a track (and if it had a funky drum beat) that would easily be played in clubs as drunken people shout out HAPPINESS. They should of really included this track in the album and it's such a shame they didn't. I mean calling a album 'Happiness' and also having a track called 'Happiness' and yet not having on said album is a bit silly don't you think.

Their latest release is for the promotion of the album, since Better Than Love was already a few months ago they are re-releasing Wonderful Life, hopefully on CD, 7" and 12!" I am hoping that this release will have a b-side or even 'Happiness' on it? We shall see.

Track of the day... Hurts - Wonderful Life (Arthur Baker Remix)

Today is a massive track I have constantly been playing on my record player.

HURTS are a under the radar band who are on the NME Radar tour... This is the tour Florence + The Machine, Marina and The Diamonds, Maximo Park, The Cribs, The Automatic, Blood Red Shoes, La Roux, White Lies and Local Natives. So keep an eye on them ;)

Track of the day... Hurts - Wonderful Life

Contemporary songs seldom match their influences, but this elegiac electro-pop song does exactly that. If the girls owned last year, then 2010 is for the boys, with both Delphic and these fellow Mancs, Hurts taking an early lead.

Legendary New York producer Arthur Baker (Planet Rock, New Order, etc) takes the reigns and we taken on a graceful journey. With lines like ‘She throws him at the wall/ and kisses burn like fire/ and suddenly he starts to believe’, strung across immaculate beats, romance has seldom felt so abandoned. With beats as perfect as this, and the great payoff from the defiant chorus, this sets the bar high; even for themselves to beat. "Wonderful Life is a heart-piercing future classic. Close your eyes and you're transported back to 1987, with the pristine production and melodies. The black-and-white video is top notch, and the dancer is an excellent touch."

If this isn’t single of the year then we are in for a classic.

Small bands review... Hurts

Ok, Hurts are from Manchester. They play electro-rock-indie-dark pop kinda music. Its hard pin down in one genre what they are but none the less they have a banging track called 'Wonderful Life'. The chorus sounds similar to Submission by Delphic (if you listen and compare closely enough).







They are playing their first ever gigs now, and the last time I looked them up on MySpace they were unsigned, now they are under a major label! No music on the site either... might this be because they are going to release the music? Who knows, but it wouldn't surprise me with the talent this duo have.
