[LISTEN] Underworld - I Exhale

So after SIX years without releasing anything, Underworld are back with a new track "I Exhale", and the band’s first new music since their contributions to the soundtrack to the Olympic Opening Ceremony in 2012.

The opening track from the band’s truly remarkable seventh studio LP ("Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future"), it is a thunderous return by one of Britain’s most consistently brilliant electronic bands. Building around a relentless and irresistible rhythm track, a colossal two-note bass riff and a wild, wide-eyed monologue, it’s the sound of Underworld reborn.

[LISTEN] Ed Macfarlane - Theme for a Flying Cat

Friendly Fires' Ed is known for writing tracks for other people as well as assisting in the studio behind the desk, and here he's shared a weird instrumental track called "Theme for a Flying Cat". There's no real back story to it, but as I've already seen, the Friendly Fires fans will certainly listen to this no matter what. It sounds like it's been picked straight up from a low budget horror flick.

HEALTH unveil new track "New Coke"

Like everyone these days, coke is everywhere, draw your own conclusions to what variation we're on about, but today "New Coke" was revealed by HEALTH, the LA foursome, in a run up to their brand new LP "DEATH MAGIC", which sounds rather fucking brilliant to me!

After scoring the Max Payne 3 OST (the video game) they've brought their sinister edge back with this visually stunning clip just below. What adds to the excitement even more is that they're playing a UK show at The Dome in London on June 9th.

The Chemical Brothers announce new album "Born In The Echoes"

This is an artist I've loved since my teenage years, The Chemical Brothers have been one of those acts that I've grown up with, and I'm excited to share with you some details of their new LP, "Born In The Echos".

The undisputed masters of brain-altering, transcendent electronics return with their first studio album since 2010's "Further". Released to coincide with headline slots at Glastonbury, Sonar and Bestival, The Chemical Brothers' eighth studio album - Born In The Echoes - is a magnificent eleven-track collection features some artists we know you all love, such as Beck and St. Vincent.

The Chemical Brothers recently contributed to the Hunger Games: Mockingjay soundtrack, recording the track This Is Not A Game with Lorde and Miguel. Prior to that, they created a bespoke soundtrack for the Velodrome at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Their new album will be releases July 17th on Virgin EMI.

Album Review... Baddies - Build

The first track on the album is a fully charged rush of electronic noise, not stopping for a beat, get up and go music for the masses! ‘The Lightmen’ is another track we loved; it’s the darkest and most experimental track on the record. It sounds like the soundscapes on this track came straight of a nightmare, it’s exceptionally dark track! As suggested by the title this is the nearest song to a ‘pop’ song on the record. It’ has a different feel to the preceding track but maintaining that 'wall of sound' sound.



‘Talk Me To Germany’ sounds like The Wombats on Prozac, it’s synth heavy and it really fun to listen! Every album has to have a track that builds and builds; this track is that track! It subtly build up to a pretty orgasmic climax! ‘Bronto’ is a live favourite of theirs and their fans; this is once again a great track to listen to, I can really imagine people driving the car and getting carried away by listening to this . ‘Star Surfing’ closes the album, and in terrific form, once again it’s a slow burner but this one gives you a lasting memory of a quality album. Thanks guys, this has been a blast to listen to!
