[LISTEN] Holy Esque - Addicted Lovers (Robert Palmer Cover)

Holy Esque have unveiled their version on Robert Palmer's "Addicted Lovers", which acts as a follow-up to their debut album "At Hope's Ravine". And perhaps you might have guessed, it's got a very 80's feel to it with some deep and heavy synths paving the way.

"We have always trodden carefully in the realm of song covers." explains frontman Pat Hynes. "The idea of working on someone else's track before perfecting our own seemed strange and initially unappealing, but when the idea arose to interpret 'Addicted To Love' we really enjoyed the process. It's a dark and somewhat sleazy track with a sense of sex appeal and fun. We love the original and thought we could show a lighter side of the band through this '80s hit. I think we have achieved that and we may even feature the song in a few special upcoming shows."

[LISTEN] ZIBRA - Kernfrakt 400

If you're like me you'll love what you're about to hear. I grew up on a weird mix of Skater-Punk and Trance music - hence why I love ZIBRA so damn much! - and their latest cover is of Zombie Nation's "Kernkraft 400". Coming it at just two minutes long it's certainly long enough to give you some nostalgic chills.

Listen to it below.

[LISTEN] SKIES - Leave Me

SKIES are set to release their second single "Leave Me" from their forthcoming EP "If You Feel Like It" which is coming out via LAB Records. Drawing comparison to the likes of CHVRCHES, The 1975, Paramore and Pegasus Bridge (anyone remember them?) they're on the up, playing some pretty sweet venues and support slots.

"Leave Me" is along the same lines as the track we premièred last month, full of uplifting synth and vocals, the heart of this song is in the chorus, it's full of character and will defiantly have you hitting the re-play button over and over again, and will be in my upbeat playlist for years to come!

[LISTEN] Editors - The Law (feat. Rachel Goswell of Slowdive)

Editors new album is a long way from where they were back in 2013, less guitars and more synths & sample pads are the order of the day, and after revealing tracks from their new album "In Dream" they've now shared the collaboration with Slowdive's Rachel Goswell.

On their last album, "The Weight Of Your Love", was the first time the band dabbled with backing vocals, and it seems they liked the idea so much that they'd have guest vocalists on their new LP. This is just one of the tracks that feature a guest vocal on it, but if they're all similar to this then the album's going to be a strong effort for sure! Listen to it below.

[LISTEN] Funeral Party - I Came To Tell You

It's been well documented that the band have been recording demos for their forthcoming second album, and with the last 9 months being a very exciting time for their fans today sees the band's first properly recorded track "I Came To Tell You".

It's got a very synthy intro, with the vocals swooning, the guitars just so alert and with a big rush towards the end of the track, Funeral Party are looking to make a comeback in 2016 - and we can't wait!

Muse cover "Lies" by Chvrches in the Live Lounge

Muse are one of those bands I'd love to see, yet never really listen to. Here the band have covered "Lies" by Chvrches for BBC Radio 1's live lounge, and it's a very synth heavy cover, kinda reminds me of the album before "Drones", which in my eyes was a flop.

Make what you want out of the cover, it's below for you to enjoy!

[WATCH] The Fratellis - Baby Don't You Lie To Me!

The fully charged nature of "Baby Don’t You Lie To Me!" is reminiscent of the lively soul that paraded through their 2006 début album smash "Costello Music", and judging by the slick music video the band want to get back to the good old times! This track is a great slice of Alt-Pop with some classic indie choruses that wouldn't seem out of place in the late 70's - definitely one to sing-a-long to!

"Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied" will be the band’s fourth album, released on 21st August via Cooking Vinyl.

Last Dinosaurs announce new album "Wellness"

Last Dinosaurs have now announced that their 2nd album - "Wellness" - will be out on August 28th and that they will also be touring around Australia in September/October.  I was one of many that fell in love with their rock sound on the first album, but, if they fill my eardrums with sounds like "Apollo" then I'll be a happy chappy, even if it more synthy than their first effort.

 "Wellness" track listing
1. Take Your Time
2. Evie
3. Karma
4. Wurl
5. Wellness
6. Apollo
7. Always
8. Purist
9. Stream
10. Zero

[LISTEN] Fairchild - Hot Rod

... and much like a Hot Rod this track is full of theatre, character and has a epic start to the track that can easily soundtrack any hot rod race - I swear they've written this song with that in mind! Anyway, Fairchild have come a long way since their Indie-Pop beginnings and the new cut "Hot Rod" is a step in the right direction as most great bands are now evolving into something bigger.

And it looks like Fairchild want to be at the forefront of the UK music scene, by judging this song alone they're going to be there quick! Their AA-side single "Hot Rod"/"Nom De Guerre" will be out 22nd June via their label Canvas Sounds. This is a big statement indeed.

[LISTEN] U.R.I - Diamonds [IAI PREMIÈRE]

We now get to chose who we post about, and today I'm honoured to première U.R.I's first ever single. After moving back to London from Tel Aviv in Israel he's been heavily inspired by the city that he once lived in, and after working intensively in the studio with producer Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Ghostpoet) and home based producer Orel Tamuz the outcome is astonishing. "Diamonds" is a delicate track that any Wild Beasts, Radiohead and Half Moon Run fan will love!

He's been experimenting with analogue synths, fluent drum beats and edgy guitar sounds, he managed to create an interesting dimension within the indie-rock genre, showcasing a processed electronic production whilst still keeping the warmth that always stood out in his songs.

U.R.I will be launching his E.P at The Finsbury Pub in London on July 20th - get a taste of what he's all about just below!

Next Hype ► FMLYBND

After hitting #1 on Hype Machine with "Electricity" and following up with "Far Away", Isla Vista's FMLYBND have all of a sudden been on the lips of Football fanatics everywhere, but why? Well their latest track "Come Alive" is on the official FIFA 15 soundtrack, which means if you buy the game you'd be listening to it an awful lot! All of their songs have an anthematic feel to them, and following on from their half-a-million synth-pop track "Electricity" you'd be thought that it would be a tall order to follow it. Well you'd be wrong!

The band have also recently released "Young Wild" is even more anthematic than the track before it, with massive vocal bridges building the song up to hit you when the chorus drops it's just a wash of electronic eargasm! Be sure to keep an eye on this band as I can see them having a very busy 12 months ahead of them after this track! "Young Wild" was produced by Eric Palmquist (Bad Suns, Wavves) and is taken from their upcoming EP "Back To Life", with drops on October 7th. Something big is going to happen to this band soon, we can just feel it!

For fans of // The Naked and Famous, Is Tropical, MS MR and sheer Indie anthems!
