Audiolith over Brighton

There's nothing quite like packing one's bags and setting sail for foreign countries. This is exactly what Fuck Art, Let's Dance!, Egotronic and Joney will be doing in May when they leave Germany to play at Audiolith's showcase (Hamburg-based music label with legend-status in Germany). The Alternative Escape Festival will see the three acts perform at Brighton's Fish Bowl for free.

If you still need convincing you can check out our review of Fuck Art, Let's Dance's album "Atlas" here!

Album Review… Fuck Art Let's Dance - Atlas

Arguably Germany's best Indie band "Fuck Art, Let's Dance" released their debut album "Atlas" in the past month. The band's name itself already commands the listener to dance, and yet, if the tracks from "Atlas" are anything to go by the Hamburg-based trio's own dance style is not going to be particularly  wild and powerful. Indeed, you're unlikely to catch the band jumping around, arms flailing. You're more likely to spot them relaxed and chilled out.
Their songs, consisting of synth sounds, neat guitar lines, drum loops and the voice of Nico Cham, all have a very relaxed and electronic atmosphere to them.
Although the songs all sound very clubby, I can see them struggling to make any impact on the mainstream music scene. "This album isn't about producing one radio hit after the other", explains Nico Cham.
My personal highlight from Atlas is "We're Manicals". Ashort intro gives way to their fresh, youthful electronic sounds before launching into claims of "We're Manicals" by their vocalist Cham.

Their monochrome cover features a naked woman scrambling over rocks. According to Nico Cham she is "exploring the world, without wondering what is awaiting her beyond the horizon".

Off you go and explore the world too, FALD!

Out of ten: 7.5/10
