Frank Turner to play "England Keep My Bones" in full at Electric Brixton in Support of The Music Venue Trust

White Rabbit is pleased to announce a very special event at Brixton Electric on the 13th May 2016. For the first time ever in the UK - Frank Turner will play an exclusive intimate acoustic set of his critically acclaimed album England Keep My Bones in full. In association with the Music Venue Trust the night will be a dedication to the instrumental work they do in supporting the UK music scene. Having recently succeeded in changing legislation to protect small music venues from new development (see link) - this will be both a celebration of this achievement and an event to raise awareness of the challenges still facing the live circuit.

The event will also raise awareness for notable charity CALM – who address the issue of male suicide and give support to those touched by depression. The Music Venue Trust was created in 2014 to protect the UK live music network – aiming to secure the long-term future of grassroots iconic venues and the recent change in legislation was testament to the hard work they have been doing and continue to do. MVT have been going from strength to strength with a five-year plan in place, and patrons as diverse as Frank Turner, Savages, members of Everything Everything, and industry experts such as Paul Buck (Coda Agency) and Barry Dickens (ITB). Headlining the night will be beloved songwriter and national treasure Frank Turner - who will be performing the fan favourite album England Keep My Bones.

This will be the first time Frank has played an album show and fans will be treated to hearing one of his greatest records in full, for one night only. Frank Turner has worked extremely hard to raise the profile of the Music Venue Trust – having set up the initial Adopt The Agent of Change petition securing over 30.000 signatures back in September 2014. This played a major role in raising awareness of the problems facing UK music venues and attracting the attention of politicians. This will be the perfect opportunity for Frank to celebrate the success in change of legislation and continue to show his support to the Music Venue Trust. Main support comes from tour mates Skinny Lister – who bring their foot-stomping swinging folk punk to Electric Brixton having just come off a sold out tour of the States.

Up-and-coming hot indie outfit The Wholls will open proceedings. To truly turn this event into a spectacle, infamous production company Forgotten Circus will transform the Electric Brixton into a circus extravaganza. The night will run from 10pm – 4am with DJ’s sets from industry renowned music aficionado and Secret Garden Party’s Eddy Temple Morris, The Dirty Rabbit, Adam O and a very special guest.

Frank Turner reveals video for new track "Mittens"

Frank Turner is now sharing the video for a new single ‘Mittens’, following a standout year which took in a set at Glastonbury’s Other Stage, alongside Reading and Leeds Festival (in a record-breaking ninth consecutive appearance) and a Winter tour which saw Turner perform to over 35,000 fans, including a North London homecoming sell-out show to an audience of 10,000 at Alexandra Palace. There no doubt that he is a cult icon now, and in his new video it sees him dress up as Elvis, wooing a girl and lots and lots of slow-mo!

Frank Turner has covered "The Power of Love" in honour of 'Back to the Future Day' - which was yesterday if you live under a rock, it was performed this at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Check out below, this is one of many reasons why Turner is a highly respected musician!

[FESTIVAL REVIEW] InMusic Festival, Zagreb, Croatia, 22nd 24th June 2015

 A man made lake in Zagreb, purpose built for professional water sports to take place, isn't the kind of place you initially look at and think "Festival" but that's precisely what InMusic have managed to pull off at this unique venue for the last decade.

The line up might look like it should be circa Reading 98' with a dash of modern influence but InMusic doesn't seem to want to weigh heavily on the New Music side of things anyway and who can blame them when seasoned Pro's are still going strong belting out guaranteed anthems?

Line Up - Paolo Nutini, Rudimental, Placebo, FFS, Frank Turner, Of Monster and Men, La Roux, Eagles of Death Metal, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Death Cab for Cutie, Future Islands, Kate Tempest. (Florence and the Machine were meant to be headlining but pulled out due to her foot operation).

The only weird thing was that the European advertising had billed Nutini and Florence as the headliners but upon arrival in Croatia it quickly became apparent that actually Placebo and FFS were the main draw for the locals as it was their names at the top of the posters.

Highlights for me: Nutini was sheer class through and through, Rudimental had a party (standard), Placebo played pretty much everything they've ever written, Of Monsters and Men soundtracked a sunset facing the stage they were playing and it just felt like a dream to listen to.

Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls killed it! The man just oozes talent and even sang a song in Croatian, loosely translated by a roadie which for me perfectly summed up being abroad as a gentleman rather than a "Brit".

The whole week was full of sun, cider and sexual innuendo... but in fairness that could easily just have been the Eagles of Death Metal set!

Frank Turner closes first day of Standon Calling [GALLERY]

Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls last night closed the first day of Standon Calling Festival in Hertfordshire. The festival during the rest of the year is a genteel manor nestled in the quaint village, but today the politically charged Frank Turner rocked on up with his band The Sleeping Souls to play a series of song from his back catalogue.
