[LISTEN] Travis - Radio Song

Scotland's other major band next to Biffy Clyo are easily Travis, and one of my favourite bands well before I started this site up! Anyway, this is their latest track, "Radio Song", which is lifted from their new album "Everything At Once" which is out April 29th via Red Telephone Box.

It's certainly one of my faveourite of the bunch they've released off this new LP, and could quite be in my top 5 of theirs. Listen to it on full below!

[LISTEN] United Fruit - Where The Sun Beats Down

Scottish band United Fruit have revealed a brand new track which is taken from their new album "Eternal Return". "Where The Sun Beats Down" is a pure post-punk revival track, with some insane riffs and uplifting vocals, this track sounds like it's been written for the big stages, and after playing it, I can see them commanding the festivals in the coming months.


The single is lifted from the forthcoming album "Eternal Return", which is released May 13th. They're also on a short Scottish tour in May, you can check the dates out below.

Biffy Clyro share video for "Wolves of Winter"

Biffy Clyro have revealed their explosive new video for the equally explosive "Wolves of Winter" via Facebook the other day. The new cut is lifted off their up-coming album "Ellipsis" and will be released later on this year.

The video is all animation and sees some very good animation accompany the video, at least it's not your standard band playing in a room with quick camera movements, good on ya Biffy! Anyway, you can watch it below.

[LISTEN] Delamere - Kill It

The Manchester via Stoke quartet have officially revealed their catchy new track "Kill It". It's got a shed load of atmosphere as well as bright guitar hooks, combine that all in with some commanding vocals and you can just easily imagine this being played to 20,000 people on a Sunday night at Reading + Leeds festival!

The track is officially out on all major platforms today (Friday 8th April) via Scruff of the Neck Records

[LISTEN] Glaciers - The Walls

South-coast rock band Glaciers are set to release their new single "The Walls" ahead of a short string of live dates that see them take in Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth. The new track really reminds me of the late and great Animal Kingdom and even Radiohead (circa OK Computer) in places.

 
Frontman Brad Dorey said - "The walls is a psychedelic number and the second song we wrote as band. Musically it gave me a sense of nostalgia so I really wanted to get that across in the lyrics and particularly the vocal melodies, so I took what I hope is a more soulful approach than what you'd typically hear in this sort of song. It's about looking back at a time and place where things seemed very uncertain and you maybe felt a bit lost, but realising that ultimately that feeling is what you needed to push yourself forward into a better place."

Eagulls unveil video for "Skipping"

The Leeds fivesome have today revealed a stunning visual for their equally stunning track "Skipping". The band are riding a huge wave of excitement right before festival season, and after you listen to this cut you'll know why!

Don't watch this if you're sensitive of strobes, they use it a lot in this video! But if you don't head on down and turn the music up!

[LISTEN] Holy Fuck - Xed Eyes

Holy Fuck today have unveiled a brand new track, "Xed Eyes", and it's lifted from their first album in six years. The new album "Congrats" is released May 27th and is the follow-up to their "Latin" LP. The track is a glitchy mish-mash of genres, think of Everything Everything with a bit more going on and distorted vocals.

White Room reveal "Freaking On" video

After opening for Paul Weller, MIles Kane and performing at multiple major UK festivals, the Brighton quintet have today revealed their video for their epic track, "Freaking On".

The video brilliantly charms to deceive you into, for what will be for some, a self-reflective viewing experience using brilliant cinematography and tongue-in-cheek humour. You can watch it in all it's glory below.

[LISTEN] Cathedrals & Cars - Art School

Bury St. Edmunds based Cathedrals & Cars have shared the second track lifted from their second full length album. Having already gained support from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music the band are now gearing up for a flurry of attention, and after hearing this new cut I hope they get it!

"Art School" reminds me of the peak of the 'Indie-Rock' genre back in the mid to late 00's, it's a slight throwback track with some dark elements and screeching guitars making it a very tantalising affair. You can give it a play below.

We Are Scientists announce new album "Helter Seltzer" + stream "Buckle"

We Are Scientists, the Brooklyn, New York based power pop troupe are set to return this coming April 22nd with their fifth album. Titled "Helter Seltzer" the album is released via 100% Records. The duo are not wasting time either with the video for their new track "Buckle" already streaming, you can watch that below and get a flavour of their new LP right away.

The Assist have dropped us a message today about their new track, and boy is it an exciting three minutes. It starts off life as a bouncy ska influenced track, but ends up as an out and out rock tune! The Assist have already been on most people's radars in 2015 and their first single of 2016 is definitely one that you'll remember.

The Last Shadow Puppets unveil video for "Everything You've Come To Expect"

The Last Shadow Puppets have just unveiled their video for the album title track, "Everything You've Come To Expect". "Everything You've Come To Expect" - the new album - is released via Domino and is out 1st April 2016.

The track is a lot slower than "Bad Habits" but showcases the band's gentler side, as well as a small hint of a Tame Impala influence. They're due to embark on a UK-wide tour later on this month starting in Cambridge on the 24th.

Lonely The Brave reveal new album "Things Will Matter"

The Cambridge quintet have announced their new album, titled "Things Will Matter", it will be released on the 20th of May via Hassle Records, and they're already teasing the new album with a video for "What If You Fall In" - watch below.

They've also announced a UK-wide tour - with the band playing the biggest venue in Cambridge too, the CornExchange recently saw Bloc Party play there, so it shows how much of a big deal they are back home.

[LISTEN] Spring King - Rectifier

Spring King will always seem to be one of those bands that produces energetic hits after another, and their new track "Rectifier" could easily be the best yet! The single is released via Island on the 25th of March and heralds a new era for the band on a new label. The track also seems like it's the first song off their début album, which is due out later on this year. It was also premièred on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show earlier on tonight.

Spring King have literally re-sprung up here and will be a dominant force both on the live scene and when it comes to sheer hype on the net! You can hear the pulsating new track below.

[LISTEN] Sundara Karma - A Young Understanding

Reading-based indie rock four-piece Sundara Karma have revealed their new track 'A Young Understanding' and it is certainly yet another first-rate piece of music from the up and coming band. Following tunes such as 'Vivienne' and 'Flame', 'A Young Understanding' continues to deliver catchy choruses and memorable verses sung by vocalist Oscar Lulu. Combining continuous guitar riffs with a resonant bassline, the track has all the core qualities of a dynamic indie rock tune. Once more, Sundara Karma have created an impeccable tune which will undoubtedly encourage sing along moments from the audience at future live shows.

'A Young Understanding' was premiered on the Annie Mac show last night. Meanwhile, Sundara Karma will be touring numerous cities late February and March and will be making a number of festival apprearances. Check out the ace new track below!

Nothing But Thieves have revealed a rather touching and emotive video for their latest single,"If I Get High". Lifted from their début self-titled album, the track is as emotive and epic as the video below, and to think the band has gone from nothing to this within three years. Great to see.

[LISTEN] Man Made - Raining In My Head

Man Made today have shared their new track "Raining In My Head", which is taken from the forthcoming album "TV Broke My Brain". The track sounds like a lovechild between The Manic Street Preachers and The Smiths, it's got a great 90's Indie flavour to it but with an urgency of a teenager in bed with a fellow teenager - you get the idea.

There should be no surprise when I say that Man Made is lead by Nile Marr, yes, the son of The Smiths' very own Johnny Marr - so it's clear what his influences are!

[LISTEN] Gylt - Light On

So it seems that loads of new bands are popping up since the turn of the year, and today we have another. Gylt are not a Welsh band - as the name may suggest - but they're from the big smoke of London and play some straight up Indie-Rock. Comparisons can be made against The Libertines, early Blur and early Post-Punk-Revival bands such as Franz Ferdinand.
