I'm not a fan of Bud-Step or whatever you call it (I know it's Dub-Step), but when a decent track I like gets remixed I can't help but listen to it be destroyed and put back together cut up and mashed around with. This sounds like someone has infused a Nintendo with their Post-Punk track, just amazing!
Every week Dim Mak give a free track away from one of their artists, this week it's New Ivory with their new track "Feel" which features on their "Nothing" EP.
"Youth And Old Age" is off their new EP entitled "Nothing" - it's out now and after a quiet and rather sneeky release you can check out the party video for "Youth and Old Age"!
The video pays homage to classic teen movies with a warped and modern twist. NEW IVORY performs at a house party full of beautiful girls, rugged boys, booze, moshing, and crazy party antics. What's better than that!
The London based duo have toned down their guitars and whacked up the bass, this heavier track of their forthcoming EP is a breath of fresh air. The Phyc-Rock influenced track has really got that special something!
New Ivory have finally released their début album, after two years in the making the three-piece have finally done it! Their label (DIM MAK) are giving away some of their tracks, and the best of the bunch is "Day By Day".
New Ivory's latest single is out now! 'All Around Me' has the same Post-Punk Revival vibes as their other songs, but this one is the strongest one yet. Their album is still yet to be released but I'm sure that this'll be on it!
This track was our 'Track of 2011' voted by you guys, so this is a very special chance for all of our new followers to grab the track that made our year. We said ... 'A Knight' has such an infectious sound, they combine synths, fast pace drumming, heavy guitar riffs and wonderful melodies into something that everyone can love.
This was the first time I would be seeing New Ivory live, after blogging about them for ages this was my first chance to catch them live. This was my second gig in the same day and it was well worth the 4 hours worth of riding trains to get to them both. Now this performance especially was one I'd not want to forget in a hurry.
After a great Rock'n'Roll act played before them I was hiding away at the back on a couch, but when New Ivory came onto the stage the singer pulled everyone from the couches and bars and gathered them in to the centre of the stage. For everyone that attended this was a gig that they'd remember for ever! They played an enthusiastic set, with it opening with their latest (UK) single 'Something You Should Know' which got everyone in the mood and then following it up by a new track called 'The Road' and 'Day By Day'. After that they pulled the cat out of the bag and played an amazing cover of The Who's 'My Generation', this got even more people into the venue just my hearing the opening chords and chorus.
The newer people in the audience stuck around for the remainder of the set, which included a 9 minute rendition of 'A Knight', this was down to some slight problems with the power to the pedals but they pulled it off with longer verses and a great outro to the song. If you do get a day off and you notice them playing near you, just go, their live performance alone will win you over!
The London based rockers tore up the venue yesterday, gig review is due up soon. But when we got back from that we discovered that they'll be featuring on the new Felix Cartel album. It's a dance/dub-steppy kinda track (you see why I don't do this genre), but with New Ivory's vocals on top of the song it makes me want to listen to it even more! Expect to hear this on the dance-floor soon!
New Ivory have smashed their way to the top spot on our 'Track of the year' for 2011. They first caught our eyes way back in early June, here is the original post.
They won with 345 votes out of the 1045 cast. A close second place is the best performing international act for the second year running, and third was a close battle between two bands that are very close to each others hearts, Safari and VOWS.
The rest (in no particular order) The Spires - Fireworks Is Tropical - South Pacific Peace - Bblood Rapids! - Littleblood Waylayers - Hear No Lies I Heart Sharks - Neuzeit Hey Sholay - Wishbone
This has been a fantastic year for me and all of my contributors.
We all wish you a very happy new year and have a great 2012, I know I will.

So number 8 on the 'Sounds of 2012' list is New Ivory. A London based Post-Punk Revival band who are signed on to the Dim Mak label, that alone gets them into the top 10! The label is renowned for unearthing talented bands such as Bloc Party before the other labels even know of their existence.
We've reviewed their latest single 'Something You Should Know' and it got 9/10 from us, also their début track- 'A Knight' - was a track of the week back in June, and the track is even in the final for 'Track of the year'. Back to the list, with an album that is eagerly awaited by me and a few of my friends - and not forgetting the rest of the music industry - 2012 will see them rise up the 'Indie' ladder and produce a massive début album that'll have the big labels swarming all over them!
This is the Indie-Rock stylings of new Dim Mak-approved juggernauts New Ivory. They have a similar sound of Canterbury, Bloc Party and Foals all rolled up in the sleek indie vibes of New Ivory! Their latest offering 'Something You Should Know' is a great single, and considering it only cost me 79 pence it's well worth it!
Something You Should Know: They have edged slightly away from the 'Indie' scene here with a typical rock track you would expect to see high up in the XFM and NME radio charts. This track has air guitar written all over it as I've been shredding along to this rather badly on my guitar. Other than my poor attempts to rivalling their guitar skills, I have really been loving the choruses and the final bridge of the song, infectious bass and guitar drape the song and it oozes motion with the lyrics stylings that has gotten them their record deal, I just want to see a physical CD/Vinyl so I can support this band even more. Why? Because I know they'll explode onto the music scene any time now! Out of 10: 9/10
New Ivory - Something You Should Know Out of 10: 9/10
What happens when an American label takes on an English rock band from London? Magic! That's what happened with Bloc Party and that is what certainly is happening with New Ivory. They are a three piece band who provide catchy hooks and pulsating riffs, Their new track 'A Knight' has such an infectious sound, they combine synths, fast pace drumming, heavy guitar riffs and wonderful melodies into something that everyone can love.
Like I mentioned earlier they are from London and are currently on tour in North America doing the rounds on the venues there. They’ve just hit the studio to record their first complete album which is going to be released by the end of 2011. New Ivory is from remote parts unknown to the soul, from past to present sounds of distorted countenance-reflected from thoughts and emotions.
