The Last Shadow Puppets' second LP is on it's way!

It seems like The Last Shadow Puppets' follow-up album to 2008's "The Age Of The Understatement" is being recorded, well according to a certain Owen Pallett. The producer tweeted - "That rare and thrilling moment when the record you're working on crosses the threshold into Classic Status #tlsp2" ... and since then fans have been going crazy! The tweet has since been deleted but one thing remains from it all, The Last Shadow Puppets will be releasing something soon!

Last year the Kane was speaking out about new work as TLSP as a part of a new superhero movie - "It's something we always talk about y'know?" said Kane. "But I think we're gonna write this film first anyway before we hit back into that. It's gonna have a sort of X-Men kind of vibe and sort of set in the '60s, but I can't give anymore away than that."

Kane added: "We're not planning to be [in the film] but we may have a little cameo."

Gig Review... Arctic Monkeys @ Madison Square Garden, NYC February 8th 2014

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Arctic Monkeys play to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. Arctic Monkeys are a band that is very near and dear to my heart, so I find it hard to be objective when it comes to them. I've seen them live numerous times over the years at a variety of venues, and this was by far one of the best performances I've ever seen from them.

Arctic Monkeys have always had an interesting relationship with America. Back in 2006 when they first started touring they were the indie darlings and were selling out small venues across the country. After 2007 things died off a little and a fanbase of diehards remained. With the release of "AM" and the band finally coming into their own as a truly great live act, they've finally made a lasting impression in this country.

Selling out Madison Square Garden, a hugely famous NYC arena, shows that Arctic Monkeys have well and truly finally established themselves in America. Breaking America is hard to do for any British band, even one as talented as Arctic Monkeys. I've seen them struggle to fill a 3000 capacity venue here while selling out arenas back home in England. It's nice to see them finally achieving the success they deserve both in America and elsewhere.

While they played an electrifying set packed with hits including "Old Yellow Bricks", "Crying Lightning" and "R U Mine?", the highlight was when they opened their encore with a Beatles cover. Miles Kane had joined the band for "505" and came back out for this one as well. Alex Turner explained that since it was the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' American debut on the Ed Sullivan Show which was also in New York City, that it was only fitting that they should play a Beatles cover.

Alex joked, "Apparently one in three Americans actually watched that performance, if we're lucky one or three Americans might watch this YouTube video."

Here's the video of their cover of "All My Loving." All in all, it was a great show put on by a band at the top of their game. If you haven't yet, you really should catch them live.

Miles Kane covers The Verve's "The Drugs Don't Work"

Miles Kane has enjoyed a good 2013 - hitting the UK Top Ten with his second album and a string of international festival appearances. Needless to say, he's closing the year on a bit of a high.

'The Drugs Don't Work' was orginally released in 1997, and taken from The Verve's career-defining album, "Urban Hymns". And you can check out Kane's cover of the song below! - Enjoy!

Alex Turner hints at further plans with Miles Kane - but will it be as The Last Shadow Puppets?

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, has once again teased fans by hinting at a new collaborative project with long term musical acquaintance, and mod man of the moment, Miles Kane - the very man he teamed up with for the pairs side-project, The Last Shadow Puppets.

Despite the same, almost scripted answers both musicians often give to interviewers when asked about a follow up to 2008's debut album 'The Age of the Understatement' (the answers usually consist of something like, 'yeah I'm sure we will ride again'), it seems Alex Turner is now contemplating an entirely new project with his old friend: "It's definitely something that's on the cards in the future. Or something else – it doesn't have to be the Shadow Puppets" he said.

Will we ever get a second TSLP album?
In true Turner fashion, and after just under five years of doing so, he was still reluctant to admit any of these plans and ideas were set in stone - and fans may have to wait until Miles Kanes' current success disintegrates before a new Turner/Kane album is even fully considered: ''It's something we'd both love to do at some point but I don't know what that point is' he adds. 'I certainly don't think it's tomorrow. Miles is doing his thing and that's going great. It's like he's become whole. Although he always was a superstar, wasn't he?"

Prior to this, Alex Turner earlier this week also spoke about plans for a follow-up to the bands most recent chart topping album 'AM', and admitted that he can certainly see him and his band mates 'walking into another one'. Read more on that HERE.

Arctic Monkeys ticket pre-sale for Finsbury Park gigs

Last week Arctic Monkeys announced that they would be playing two huge outdoors gigs at Finsbury Park next May.

This left fans all over instantly dismissing their chances of getting tickets due to the obvious high demand there will undoubtedly be - I however wasn't THAT worried. Like the Sheffield bands UK tour and majority of gigs these days, I had a feeling there would be a pre-sale and oh how right I was.

The official ticket sale is tomorrow at 10am, however after a slight bit of research here and there I have found a pre-sale that kicked off at 10am this morning and fans who already have that £60 in their bank account should be able to just swan in and get tickets at ease - given that it is just like their UK tour pre-sale that is but I have every faith that it will be.

Thank me later people
