Mansionair have covered Future Islands' "Seasons (Waiting On You)" for Triple J’s Like A Version this morning (30th Jan). The band went on to announce a very special hometown show at Newtown Social Club on 8th of March before they head off to the States for SXSW.
Mansionair have shared their second ever track called "Second Night", the new cut has been taking from their forthcoming EP "Hold Me Down". The chilled out track once again has some beautiful guitar melodies, laced with gorgeous vocals and delicate hooks.
It's really annoying these days when bands constantly ask you to check out their music along with with sponsored ads getting them more exposure - for sometimes what is quite frankly desperation to get a quick hype on their latest track. But recently a duo has literally exploded onto the scene with some organic hype. Mansionair are an electronic duo from Sydney that we've been keeping a close eye on since we first heard their début track "Hold Me Down" which features Revier on vocals.
The track opens with some simplistic guitar tones and echoing of noises that wouldn't sound out of place in the background of a Final Fantasy game. The track gives birth to some gorgeous vocals and more guitars accompany them paving way to the drumbeat that kicks the track into life. More and more as the track develops you just get won over, how this track has managed to get over 400,000 listens in just under a month is quite easy to tell, they've managed to tap into a scene here that is about to be big this year. Keep an eye on them, we certainly will be doing the same!
Mansionair are a production duo from Sydney in Australia and we have their first track as a free download today. It's already generated a fair amount of plays since it's upload, if you imagine a cross between London Grammar and Banks then you have this band in a nut-shell!
