[LISTEN] Spring King - Rectifier
Spring King will always seem to be one of those bands that produces energetic hits after another, and their new track "Rectifier" could easily be the best yet! The single is released via Island on the 25th of March and heralds a new era for the band on a new label. The track also seems like it's the first song off their début album, which is due out later on this year. It was also premièred on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show earlier on tonight.
Spring King have literally re-sprung up here and will be a dominant force both on the live scene and when it comes to sheer hype on the net! You can hear the pulsating new track below.

[SOUNDS Of 2016] #9 - Spring King
Spring King are one of the most promising young bands in the UK at the moment. After we saw them live for the first time in November of 2014 at the DIY All-Dayer event, it's no secret that we fell in love with their unique sound and uplifting tracks. With an EP being released this year the band has been riding high, with it culminating at the Reading and Leeds music festival in late August.
With Tarek's connections they've paved their way into the Indie elite and are easily one of the most exciting live bands around, even going as far as bringing one of their dads on stage to perform sax! They are a band that can translate the energy you feel from their recorded tracks when they perform live. You can listen to an interview (in the playlist at the bottom) Nathan done with them below, just before a sold out show supporting Courtney Barnett in Cambridge.
This band was and now is a real treat every time we stick them on to listen to, think of The Vaccines crossed with atmospheric Strokes and the live performance of Foals, just electric! So what does 2016 hold in store for them? Well with an EP and some highly acclaimed tracks behind them we can see them pushing the boundaries even further, with bigger stages and bigger festival slots just waiting to be filled, they'll be up there for sure.

[LISTEN] Spring King - Who Are You?
I'm jumping on this track very quickly, it's Spring King's latest offering, and after their stunning EP which was released earlier on this year they're back with another epic track. "Who Are You?" reminds me of the time I first heard "City", a wall of guitars and a big rush of sonic noises for a solid three minutes. Keep an ear out for Pete's Dad on the saxaphone in the latter third of the track.

Spring King stream new Dub Mix of "They're Coming After You"
As Spring King celebrate the recent release of their new "They're Coming After You" EP, the arrival of two headline shows at Gullivers, Manchester and The Victoria, London is accompanied by an all-new dub remix of the EP's title-track by the group's singer, drummer and principal songwriter/producer Tarek Musa. It's got a slightly reggae feel to it when it starts then develops into something quite psychedelic.

Spring King stream new track "They're Coming After You"
Spring King have today revealed a stream of their new track "They're Coming After You". The song is the other half (in a sense) of "City", where that was fast paced and energetic, this new cut is a more relaxed and down tempo track, think of it as a chillout song for the loved up bearded types!
"They're Coming After You" EP, due for release on April 20th via Handsome Dad Records, and you can listen to the title track below.

Introducing... Spring King
Last year we went on down to DIY's All Dayer - ran in conjunction with Transmission and Pledge Music - and we knew it would be a great night due to the bookers and the magazine that was hosting the night, but there was one band on the night that we didn't know of, but after, we loved! That was Spring King.
They're one of the most exciting bands currently touring the smaller venues in the UK, and their latest track "City" was championed by Zane Lowe and was played relentlessly by me when I first heard it. They've got a great blend of deep and bassy riffs with a urgency that was prominent in the mid 00's. It's not all about that one song though, Better Man", it's a punchy three minute rock anthem laden with breezy guitar hooks, choruses that are designed to be shouted from the rooftops and a track, lets put it simply, destined for the big stages at festivals!
Looking into the band further we saw that they've recently played the Transgressive 10 show, and they're signed to a Transgressive imprint, Paradyse (Theme Park) as well as having a solid live performance! This band was and now is a real treat every time we stick them on to listen to, think of The Vaccines crossed with atmospheric Strokes and the live performance of Foals, just electric!

Choppy, anarcho-punk inspired imagery is the perfect accompaniment to Spring King’s ferocious and pacey "City" single, and a fitting glimpse into the breath-taking speed at which their infamous live show is set to flood across Austin for this month’s SXSW.

Track of the week... Spring King - Better Man
What a way to start November, we have one of Spring King's new tracks off their latest EP. When we saw the band perform at DIY's All Dayer at The Laundry in Hackney we could not believe how energetic their set was, and how tight the band were on stage! The stand-out track for us was "Better Man", it's a punchy three minute rock anthem laden with breezy guitar hooks, choruses that are designed to be shouted from the rooftops and a track, lets put it simply, destined for the big stages at festivals!
Looking into the band further we saw that they've recently played the Transgressive 10 show, and they're signed to a Transgressive imprint, Paradyse (Theme Park) as well as having a solid live performance!
