Sigur Rós, James Bay, The Last Shadow Puppets, and Catfish and The Bottlemen have been all announced as headline acts to perform at the Bristol Summer Series over 4 days. The announcement has sparked some music boffins to assume all four acts will be performing at Glastonbury too - as it's just down the road.
None the less these gigs will all go down a treat in Bristol, tickets for the shows go on sale on the 18th of March - here - at 10am

Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós today have 'unlocked' loads of demos, loops, out-takes, alternative versions of songs and live tracks on Soundcloud.
Most of which were originally uploaded around two years, it gives you an insight to what one of the world's most iconic Post-Rock bands sound like before they record it fully. So scroll on down below to listen to 42 songs by the band! Over FOUR HOURS worth of music!
Today when I loaded up soundcloud Sigor Ros had unlocked loads of free to download tracks, so this can basically cover us for this segment of the site for the next fortnight. But as I like to mix things up I shall not be doing so, but you can download "Untitled 2 (Fyrsta)" today thanks to the band.
As some sites were reporting during the week, Sigur Rós have been busy recording a song for the Game of Thrones soundtrack. After last year scoring music for The Simpsons the band are certainly not afraid to make music for interesting projects and TV programmes.
They're going to cover "The Rains of Castamere", which was originally recorded by The National, so scroll on down to check out the original.
The iTunes Festival continued last night in Camden’s Roundhouse, with Icelandic giants Sigur Rós taking to the stage. The trio were accompanied by violinists, percussionists and a brass section to help towards creating the unique sound that Sigur Rós provide with their music.
The band opened with Yfirborð, a calming but fast paced track taken from their latest LP “Kveikur” and followed it up with the much heavier “Brennistein”, the lead single from the band’s eighth offering. After showcasing some of the new stuff, the band delved into their archives, playing fan favourites “Festival” followed up by “Hoppípolla”. The crowd clearly lapping up the positive vibes bursting from two of Sigur’s most refreshing songs.
“Svefn-g-Englar” was received well and was followed up with “Glósóli” that seemed to be off-beat at times with the marching sounds but it was soon forgotten about when the song climaxed and exploded to life for the final two minutes of the track. The show took a heavier turn from there on out with “Vaka” taking the audience through the darker side of Sigur Rós. Only one track from the band’s “Valtari” album made an appearance. That was the spellbinding “Varúð”, similar to “Glósóli” began eerily as Jónsi sang at his piano but soon the song began to rise and the tension in the song reached its tipping point as the song ended in classic Sigur Rós fashion.
The performance ended with “Popplagið”, also the final song on the “Untitled” album. A song that feels like you’re on an adventure when listening was the perfect way to end a set that took us on a ride through the new, the old and the best of Sigur Rós.

Self-produced by the three members of Sigur Rós – Jón Þór Birgisson, Georg Holm and Orri Páll Dýrason – "Kveikur" will be released on June 17th, and is their first album since signing to XL Recordings.

Sigur Rós are set to appear in The Simpsons Gigwise reports. The Icelandic band have recorded something for the cartoon programme and reports are also suggesting in the Icelandic media that they'll be doing a cover of the opening title too.
Sigur Ros return in June 2013 with their seventh studio album, Kveikur, and recently premièred third new track "Isjaki".
