Surge reveal video for "Loveblood"

One of our favourite tracks of 2015 finally has a video, it's Surge's brilliant track "Loveblood". The video is made up of a mix of the band performing in their rehearsal room, at a festival and venues. Certainly looks like they get up to a lot of fun.

You can watch teh video below.

[INTRODUCING] SURGE

Ever since I heard an instrumental snippet of Surge's début track I knew that I'd be excited for the whole thing, and we loved the quartet from the off, "Tears Of Joy" just got things started! George (Vocals/Guitar) has been in a couple of bands we've posted here before, but this new cut from his latest project sounds like the best yet! With influences of The Libertines, Oasis and hints of Arctic Monkeys all there, they've certainly got their genre hit on the nail with "Tears of Joy". Pure Indie!

With a gentle few seconds in the beginning giving way to a anthematic rush of guitars and crashing drums the track, and the guitar tones are spot on here. Their other tracks "When I Love You" and "Loveblood" also show how diverse the band can be within the genre, ranging from a very delicate acoustic tune to an upbeat track even Alex Turner himself would love to call his own!

... and finally "I Don't Know What You Think About Love" reminds me of The Vaccines' first single, it's just a rush of guitars and at such a high tempo it could easily be the cornerstone of their live sets, who said guitar music was dead!

[LISTEN] Surge - I Don't Know What You Think About Love

Here is the B-Side to Surge's debut single "Loveblood", it was recorded and produced entirely by the band and it will be released digitally - alongside the single, on September 14th. The track reminds us of The Vaccines' first single, it's just a rush of guitars and at such a high tempo it could easily be the cornerstone of their live sets!

[TRACK OF THE WEEK] SURGE - Loveblood [IAI PREMIÈRE]

We've got something very special for you today, a brand new track from Essex quartet - Surge. It's their track "Loveblood" which is actually their brand new single, as they announced last week too, the track will be released on 7" vinyl with another new cut "I Don't Know What You Think About Love?". The track is similar to that of their début effort "Tears of Joy", but this one is more upbeat and is ready for your summer-time playlists!

The foursome really do embrace their influences, with nods towards Arctic Monkeys in this one. SURGE seem to know exactly how to get us going, the track opens with a sumptuous riff and a driving beat that will certainly get you wanting to get your groove on. They seem to be flying the flag for Essex, and based on what we've heard so far it won't be long before everyone will know of SURGE.

Take a listen to "Loveblood" below - we've got it premièring below. Enjoy!

[LISTEN] Surge - When I Love You (Demo)

Released as a sort of 'stop-gap' track between their début single and their new release "Loveblood", Surge from Essex have put out a rather delicate acoustic demo of "When I Love You". They wrote on their soundcloud...
"Seeing as we haven't released any music since our début single, 'Tears Of Joy' back in April, we decided to put together and record this mellow acoustic number/demo (that has never been played live or used in anyway), in order to bridge the gap somewhat, before our forthcoming single, 'LOVEBLOOD' is released next month."
Expect to hear this track in a fully recorded at some point.

Track of the week... SURGE - Tears Of Joy

I've been waiting for the full version of this track for a while, ever since I heard an instrumental snippet I knew that I'd be waiting for a while for the whole thing. Alas, today SURGE unveiled their début track "Tears of Joy", and to keep details to a minimum, I felt like the song title once I heard it in full.
