Pulled Apart By Horses have unveiled a tribute to David Bowie with a cover of "Ziggy Stardust", with all proceeds donated to Teenage Cancer Trust. The track will be available on iTunes this Friday (Jan 15th).
Speaking about the track, James Brown said "On Sunday January 10th, 2016, the world lost one of the most important and influential musicians of all time, David Bowie. Along with the millions of people all over the world who's lives he had touched, we were shocked and saddened to hear the news. We're all huge fans of his work, so at band practice on Monday night we decided to learn and record a tribute to him and his incredible legacy. Here is a cover of one of our favourite tracks, ‘Ziggy Stardust’. All profits from the track will go to Teenage Cancer Trust which is an amazing cause. Long live The Goblin King!’"

Pulled Apart By Horses announce new drummer
Pulled Apart By Horses have revealed that their new drummer is Tommy Davidson. Davidson has played with bands such as These Monsters and Dinosaur Pile-Up. He will replace Lee Vincent who said he had plans of leaving the band last month.
Davidson had a few words to say about joining the band: "I'm over the moon to have joined Horses," he said. "The boys are like brothers to me so any excuse to hang out with them even more is gladly welcomed. We've already got stuck in writing some new tunes which is really exciting. I'm also buzzing about all the gigs and festivals that we've got coming up over the next few months. I have a feeling we're gonna have a lot of fun!"

The Weekly Catch-Up (w/e 13th September)
What a week it has been, and we're back again with some of the BEST tracks of the week just gone, we've got some brand new music from your favourite bands and some newbies, enjoy.
Remember to check back here daily for FREE downloads, news and reviews - and lots more too!
Dry The River - New Cross
Dry The River today are giving away a track dedicated to a South London train station. I'm joking about the dedication but their track "New Cross" is still going as a free download today thanks to the #Transgressive10 celebrations. - Scroll on down to listen to a song that didn't make their new album.
Jamie T - 40/40 ICU
Jamie T has not completely left his old sound behind as you can hear from his new B-Side to "Zombie". "40/40 ICU" is Jamie back to his old good self, with some fans already preferring this to the new sound. - The new album "Carry On The Grudge" released 29th September 2014.
SBTRKT - Higher (Feat. Raury)
SBTRKT has revealed another new track off his upcoming LP "Wonder Where We Land" and this time round it's the track with Raury on vocals, "Higher". He does a great job laying down some soulful vocals and is serious competition for Sampha for my favourite guest vocalist on this album. - Check out the song below! You can also listen to a track he's made with Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig here, it's called "New Dorp, New York", and "War Drums" which features Warpaint!
Frett - West Coast
Earlier this week we were premièring something rather special, Frett have covered Lana Del Rey's "West Coast", and with some beautiful harmonious vocals from their guest vocalist Clarice Parrott. Her vocals give the band that added layer, people need to start taking Frett seriously, it looks like they mean business!
Gengahr - Powder
After seeing Gengahr open for Wolf Alice earlier on this year we've been a fan of theirs, and today the band have unveiled a stream of their début single which is released 27th October on Transgressive Records.
Pulled Apart By Horses - Blue Jeans
Pulled Apart By Horses have become a genuine cross-over success over the course of three impeccably noisey albums, with songs ranging from Post-Hardcore to Alt-Rock and via Noise-Rock, it's safe to say they like to be loud! - Below is a cover of Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans" they done, enjoy!
Soak - B a noBody
SOAK has now signed to Rough Trade Records, she is just 18 years old, from Northern Ireland, and her songs have drawn comparisons with the likes of Cat Power and Beach House. - She's been gigging since she was 15 and has already got rave reviews from Radio 1, 6Music and XFM, and she's also been on a big European tour with CHVRCHES, and festival sets across the likes of Glastonbury and Latitude. You can check out her new track "B a noBody" below too, big things are ahead now as Rough Trade don't ever sign anyone that isn't amazing!

Royal Blood slip to #2 in album charts, Lonely The Brave & Pulled Apart By Horses enter the chart
Royal Blood last week shot to the top of the UK's Top 40 Album Chart, they were still there mid-week this week but a late charge from Sam Smith's PR lot has taken the crown from them.
They currently sit at #2 int he chart, still VERY respectable, they're joined with Cambridge rockers Lonely The Brave at #14 and Pulled Apart By Horses with their new album "Blood" at #38 - who said rock'n'roll was dead!

Gig Review... Pulled Apart By Horses @ HMV Cambridge, 3rd September 2014
Back in May, Pulled Apart By Horses embarked on a mammoth of a UK tour with support from The Wytches playing some pretty intimate venues. One of these venues was The Portland Arms in Cambridge and I went down to take some photos of the gig. By the end of Pulled Apart By Horses’ set, security had given up and part of the ceiling had collapsed (probably due to frontman Tom Hudson crowd surfing during ‘High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive’) and hit bassist Rob Lee square in the face. It’s now early September and the band have returned to Cambridge, but instead of tearing a venue apart by loud, distorted punk rock and violent mosh pits, they are playing an acoustic set in HMV.
Promoting their new album, ‘Blood’, Pulled Apart By Horses decided that they would do the acoustic tour as it was not something they had done before. Personally, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. At no point was I expecting it to not live up to how good they sound at live shows, but it’s not normal to hear Pulled Apart By Horses and acoustic in the same sentence.
Opening their six song set with ‘V.E.N.O.M’ from 2012 release ‘Tough Love’, the band started to draw shoppers closer to hear what was going on. With Rob out of the game due to illness, the line up consisted of Tom Hudson, guitarist James Brown and drummer Lee Vincent. Playing through new songs such as ‘Hot Squash’, ‘Grim Deal’ and ‘Lizard Baby’ made me feel like I was at the Nirvana MTV Unplugged Session. Hudson’s voice suits their acoustic sound well and there isn’t many bands in their genre that can adapt to a completely different style of music. The set included a cover of Iggy and the Stooges’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ followed by the trio closing with fan favourite ‘High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive’.
It would be no surprise if Pulled Apart By Horses released an acoustic E.P sometime soon. The response to the songs being played on this short run are nothing but positive and it’s great to see a band with so much musical talent that they can experiment with new sounds. Make sure you check out their new album and catch them on their UK tour this November (21st - Manchester, 22nd - Glasgow, 24th - Brighton, 25th - Birmingham, 26th - Bristol, 28th - London) or on their short Dr Martens X DIY European run this week.
