Hozier covers Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" in the Live Lounge

Irish artist Hozier has launched Radio 1's Even More Music Month with an incredible groovy cover of Sam Smith's usually calm ballad "Lay Me Down." Hozier does not cease to disappoint, with his rich, soulful vocals taking control of the melody, the track is already given more of an energetic feel. The driving bass and continuous drum beat keep the rhythm section on point, allowing the gospel choir to provide exceptional backing vocals at the chorus. 

Hozier has once again managed to turn a hit single into his own unique masterpiece, proving himself to be the very talented musician that he is. The artist has also announced a UK tour which will take place in early 2016, with tickets on general sale on Friday 4th September.

Hozier covers "Problem" by Ariana Grande

Hozier has performed a cover of "Problem" by Ariana Grande for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, you can check it out below. There seems to be no limits to this guys talent, as this cover shows! Hozier is also set to headline this year's Longitude Festvial in his homeland of Ireland, what difference a year makes!

Seafret covers Hozier's "Angel of Small Death and The Codeine Scene"

On the back of their success of  their "Give Me Something" EP the North Yorkshire duo Seafret have recorded a session at Maida Vale studios for BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, during which they covered Hozier's "Angel of Small Death and The Codeine Scene". You can now listen back to the hauntingly beautiful cover below.

Another week goes by and now that 'Later... with Jools Holland' is back on the BBC we have a late night music show on TV, oh happy days! This week Hozier, First Aid Kit and Band of Skulls all popped down to perform, check back in with BBC 2 on Friday for even more (as of yet unreleased) performances!

Catfish and the Bottlemen - I Will Never Let You Down

Catfish and the Bottlemen's new album is out now, we've given it a huge push on the site and after you buy it you'll know why. So in support of that the band have popped into BBC Radio 1 to perform a special cover for their 'Live Lounge' segment. You can check out the rocky version of "I Will Never Let You Down", with a brief cover of Modjo's "Lady (Here Me Tonight)", something for the 90's kids here, and something for the 00's lot too, this is seriously fun to listen to!

It looks like the band do not want to be forgotten, with loads of remixes done by them in the past two or so months they're certainly keeping themselves busy! Both artists reside in Manchester and this is a testament to the scene that collaborations are so fruitful, this remix is just brilliant!

Darlia - Stars Are Aligned

We're big fans of Darlia and after getting its first play last night on Radio 1 as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World, the Blackpool trio are all set to release the crushing new single on October 27th via B-Unique Records. "Stars Are Aligned" continues along the same lines of their other music, massive choruses, big guitar and brilliant drums with smooth bass. It's a radio friendly rock track for the modern ages, crank this up and enjoy!

Hozier announces London headline date at KOKO!

Hozier is pleased to announce details of a new London headline show for later in the year. The fast-rising Irish musician will headline Camden's KOKO venue on 17th September. The new date will be one at the end of a hectic summer of festival performances, including slots at Glastonbury, Latitude, Longitude, and the Reading & Leeds Festivals just to name a few!
