Surfer Blood share new video for "I Can't Explain"

Today Surfer Blood have shared the video for the previously-released new album cut "I Can't Explain"

John Paul takes us through it all - "I Can't Explain is one of our most collaborative efforts to date. The hook just came to us one day in the practice space and we wrote the rest of the song around it. The lyrics (by Kevin Williams) tell the story of a romantic encounter on a New Year's Eve past and build slowly with the rest of the song. I've always been keen on a long instrumental outro, so this seemed like the perfect spot for a long, jammy guitar section - a place for us to get some Yo La Tengo/Built to Spill guitar fetishizing out of our system"

Help Thomas Fekete of Surfer Blood

A couple of months ago Surfer Blood guitarist and all-round sweet guy Thomas Fekete had major surgery to have a large tumour removed from his abdomen, sadly a few days ago doctors informed him that it had spread to his spine and is making its way into his lungs.

Needless to say, his situation has left him unable to tour and make a living with the band while his wife has left work to help look after him through his treatment. With a team of doctors assembled and confident in alternative therapy for such a rare cancer, the price of help is going to be out of his reach, while insurance would only cover a portion. As he states, he never thought he’d publicly ask for money but with the hope that fans of the band could spare anything to help with costs, he’s set up a GoFundMe page here: http://www.gofundme.com/sb22g7f.
