Swedish duo "The Knife" have just announced three dates for their "Shaken-Up Show Tour 2014".

Introducing... Fever Ray

Today's "Introducing" article brings you information on a not-exactly-new but nonetheless extremely talented artist.

"Fever Ray" is the product of Karin Dreijer Anderssons darkest thoughts and inner demons.
A mix between powerful vocals and dark, heavy minimal electronic beats, as well as instruments including harps and exotic drums, Fever Ray is an artist you have to listen to -  if possible alone, outside during a full-moon night. Karin Dreijer Andersson is normally the lead singer of Swedish electro-pop duo "The Knife" (don't know them? Think of "Heartbeats").

She released her début solo album "Fever Ray", named after her alter ego, in 2009. The album's dark sound was extremely well received by critics, leading to a wave of 8s and 9/10s in leading music magazines. At times shrieking, at times thundering deep vocals over a sea of synth layers, Fever Ray sounds like no other artist.

"[It] may not make sense to play [Fever Ray] if you're prone to nightmares", claimed BBC Music's Chris Jones.  And he is totally right. The sound exhumed by the Swede makes one feel alone with one's darkest thoughts. You may have heard Karin Dreijer Andersson in her collaboration with Röyskopp for the Norwegians' track "What Else Is There".

Daily Download... Rainmode - The Foghorn (Take II)

Last week the swedish band Rainmode released their second single: "The Foghorn". Rainmode is a duo consisting of singer/songwriter Henrik Skanfors and producer Martin Alexandersson. Already it has nearly 5000 plays on SoundCloud, and now they release an acoustic version that is free to download on SoundCloud.

Last Lynx share video for their dreamy new single "Lacuna"

The video was produced by two Last Lynx fans who approached the band with this animated Film Noir idea, which they loved. The characters in the video were made by the band's close friend and artist Martin Bejbom and has been seen before in six different photo prints in the vinyl edition of the "Ocean Reels" EP.

The rather delightful song has been given one of the best animated videos in the past 12 months, the cute animals really compliment the soothing vocals and delicate guitars.

Daily Download... Kinetics - The Island

On November 5th Kinetics released the first of four singles later to be collected on vinyl this spring. The first single “Empty Lanes”, a beautiful, melancholic song, received great critical acclaim and was featured on blogs, podcasts and radio stations all over the world. Now Kinetics release their second single titled “The Island” on January the 8th.

If You Say So unveil video for "Paint Me"

After unveiling them last month, they now have a video to accompany their amazing début song.

If You Say So was born in South Africa, studied guitar in Cuba and has been moving her whole life – from Australia, to Barcelona, to current location Stockholm. Influences come from far and from near and together they make “Paint Me” the melting pot it is. The video continues in this tradition - it's a colourful experience that accompanies the song perfectly.

HONEYMILK unveil "Sea To Shining Sea" single

Honeymilk was formed in Stockholm, September 2012 and although if one year may seem like a short period of time, they had a very productive and successful first year.

If You Say So came to the artist in the wake of broken dreams, pure chance and a Facebook tip.

When previous singer/songwriter dreams didn’t take pace the way she wanted she bought herself a computer, Logic X; borrowed an old synthesizer and started looking for new ways to express herself. Around that time a Facebook friend of hers paired the aspiring artist with producer Patrik Lorentzon. The day after, “Paint Me” – If You Say So’s debut single and the song attached in this message – was penned.

Long Distance Runners unveil début song "Waiting For The Tide"

Long Distance Runners is Christoffer Englund, Martin Ekman, Erik Östholm and Daniel Borg. How do you define or describe this strong bond apart from calling them raw, absent of hunger for fame but rather an inspiring affair, uncontaminated in its approach and distinct sound within the Swedish indie scene.
