It's All Indie: Top 20 - #5

Two Door Cinema Club - I Can Talk

The trio wisely decide to use their youthful exuberances for the rest of the record. Listening to the likes of the thrillingly optimistic 'I Can Talk'.Another release from the prolific Kitsuné label... Two Door Cinema Club return with their second single, taking NME dance floors by storm with their guitar based dance pop and it’s insanely catchy.

This was the second single from Two Door Cinema Club it came with a wave of 2010 hype and BBC Sound of 2010 commendations, such is its melding of what is popular both in mainstream circles and the indie ‘underground’. The opening salvo is reminiscent of Delphics' 'Doubt' before a crisp riff announces the start of the song itself. The chorus’ instrumentation is owed to a shimmering tremolo and mechanical drumming interloping with Alex Trimble’s delicate-yet-somehow-powerful vocal; he sounds like a particularly impassioned 15 year old whose voice is only just settling into its male state, still able to reach pre voice breaking highs.
