JAWS unveil glitchy new video for "What We Haven't Got Yet"
Following the release of latest single "What We Haven’t Got Yet", JAWS have unveiled a psychedelic new video to run alongside it. It was filmed by guitarist Alex Hudson's brother in their very own practice room, you can see the band in true DIY setting.

[LISTEN] Jaws - What We Haven't Got Yet
After Jaws' new track "Bad Company" was shared a few months back, they've been back into the studio to finish their second album, and the latest cut "What We Haven't Got Yet" was premièred last night on BBC Radio 1! The track features a bulkier, new wave influenced sound that sits somewhere between "Bad Company" from earlier this summer and the airier beach-pop of their début.
Their follow-up is sounding big, and to match that big sound the band have also revealed a UK-wide tour - both the song and the tour dates are below.

[LISTEN] Connor. (Jaws) - 30.06.2015
This was posted less than a day ago and it's from JAWS' vocalist - Connor - soundcloud page, he says its the shortest song he's written. But, in my eyes this is a great base to work a song on, breezy vocals, surfy guitar tones and a warm feel to it, pitching in at 53 seconds long it is easily one of the shortest tracks I've written about, but I can't help feel that if he turned this into a full band track it'll be pretty damn good!

JAWS unveil video for "Bad Company"
JAWS have today unveiled the video for their latest single, "Bad Company", which is a real departure from their work on their first LP.With the band already in the studio finishing things off for their follow-up, which we're expecting to be a lot heavier, much like the video below.
Director Richard Manning says - "Connor’s lyrics relate to isolation and a feeling of disconnection to the world during adolescence. I wanted to portray this view through stark locations and the subject’s idiosyncratic yet melancholic view on life."

Jaws share new single "Bad Company"
Their first album (and pre-album songs) was mainly a surfy affair, but now the guys have grown up a bit since their humble beginnings are have shared a brand new cut in the shape of "Bad Company". It's a grunge come garage-rock track with Connor's vocals going deeper and more urgent than we've heard before.

JAWS stream début album "Be Slowly"
The Birmingham surf-rockers have been taking their time with their début LP, and might I say, time well waited! We've got a review of the album coming up tomorrow, and all I need to say is that, after getting their demo CD a few years back the band still retain that excitement, just listen to the first track and tell me otherwise!
Their album "Be Slowly" is out next week on Rattlepop.

10 Of The Best Tracks We Heard This Week (w/e 1st June)
The weekly look back at the weeks best tracks of the week post is back for another week. I think I need to mention last week once more... ANYWAY - Here's a quick catch up if you've been away for the past seven days.
Some tracks from big bands, new finds and some sexy remixes are all included!
Colleagues - Tears
Sometimes we're disappoints when we hear a band for the first time, but today we were simply blown away by Colleagues' latest track "Tears". It's got a summer anthem written all over it with uplifting guitar riffs and bright drum beats. The single "Tears / Parents House" is out NOW!
Band of Skulls - Hoochie Coochie (Dan Auerbach Mix)
Dan Auerbach who has produced the new Lana Del Rey album no less has also given Band of Skulls' "Hoochie Coochie" a remix, with a BIG Black Keys sounding twist on it. The track is featured on the band's new "Hoochie Coochie" EP which will be out on July 27th.
Lovestarrs - Bullet
The trio who have shaken off the moniker of The Good Natured have revealed their second proper single, "Bullet". After releasing "Get Your Sexy On" earlier this year and along with demos "Lovers" and "Stupid Cupid", and the band are certainly on the rise again and are set to be dominating in 2015 if they continue along these lines!
The "Supernova" EP is out August 5th via LAB Records.
Darlia - Dear Diary
The Blackpool threesome are back with a brand new single, and once again it's a three minute epic filled with big choruses, bold riffs and laden with Natahan's snarling vocals. It's due for release via B-Unique on 7th of July and will once again be out on vinyl and digital (links below).
It's their most ambitious song yet and will certainly reach out to the masses, with lots of people jumping on-board after their BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend performance. Enough rambling, click PLAY below!
The Subways - My Heart Is Pumping To A Brand New Beat
"My Heart Is Pumping To A Brand New Beat" is to be released on June 23rd. The single is the band's first for 18 months and is going to be released to mark 10 years since they won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition as an unsigned act, all aged just 17.
The band are also set to play the main stage at Glastonbury this year as well as Hurricane, Southside and Camden Rocks.
The Neighbourhood - Jealou$y (feat. Casey Veggies & 100s)
The Neighbourhood are releasing their mixtape album soon - we still haven't seen a release date as of yet - and their latest track to come out on the depths is "Jealou$y", a RnB heavy track with some of The Neighbourhood's unique sounds incorporated too.
Kasabian - Bumblebee
This song was premiereed on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, it's the second studio track we've heard and we're now getting excited for the album! Scroll on down to check it out in it's (radio hissing) glory.
Wolf Alice - Moaning Lisa Smile
Wolf Alice last week released their third EP- "Creature Songs" - and now we can watch a video for the lead single, "Moaning Lisa Smile". The video follows Ellie wanting to be in a dancing group but getting shunned by types, but she finds friends in a circle that lets her be herself - keep an eye on the girls in her dance-group, it's the other band members in drag!

We're really excited to hear that the foursome from Birmingham will be finally releasing their début album on September 15th via their long-standing label Rattlepop. The album will only include three songs they've previous released, and one of them being a demo, will ensure that the band will be releasing a really fresh album. Warpaint - Ashes To Ashes
Warpaint last week played their set at Spain's biggest music festival - Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. They performed a great set, but one thing stood out, their cover of David Bowie's classic track "Ashes To Ashes". The video we had up has been taken down, but check out a studio version below.

The album will only include three songs they've previous released, and one of them being a demo, will ensure that the band will be releasing a really fresh album.

Single Review... Jaws - Think Too Much, Feel Too Little
Jaws last year were one of the finest bands to emerge from Birmingham that didn't release an album, however they did release an EP that we loved! The boys are now back with a stunning new summer laden anthem "Think Too Much, Feel Too Little".
The track is out on Record Store Day, but sadly only via iTunes. However, don't let that dampen the awe of the song. It's a slower track compared to what you'd be use to from them but the relaxed approach is something that you can really connect with. The smooth bass lines and the sweet guitar tones bring a touch of Surf to your world, watch out Hollister these lads want to soundtrack your stores! A wonderful return from the four piece, may 2014 be the year!

JAWS have announced that they'll be going out on a UK-wide tour in the latter half of April and some dates in May. This'll see them play the usual vibrant music scenes and up and coming ones such as Banbury and Middlesbrough.

Gig Review... Jaws, support from La Bete Blooms and Affairs @ Fruit in Hull, 27th January 2014
After reading a fair bit about Jaws online in recent months I was excited to see they were playing a gig close enough to me to go to (living in Grimsby means lengthy travel for any decent gigs usually) however even this short journey across the Humber Bridge for me wasn't particularity justified, I mean the lads know what they're doing n'all but there was just something missing as a performance for me. Whether it was because i saw more of the lead singers back due to him turning around all the time or if because i also couldn't hear a single lyric he sang when he did face the crowd, i don't know, just wasn't really 'feeling' it.
There is no doubt that these lads have recorded a beautifully sounding EP with tunes like 'Surround You' and 'Breeze' but to really love a band I personally have to enjoy them live.
My friend and I got chatting to lovely older couple at Leeds Fest last year who said "We've seen loads of acts over the years that just own a stage but you can't listen to them at home but then we have alot of favourite cd's in our car that they are shockingly bad live"...I fear that Jaws will unfortunately be the latter for me.
The support bands however I would have driven over the bridge several times for!
Affairs and Le Bete Blooms both gave it their all in terms of effort and that coupled with some corking tunes were enough for me to look past some rather questionable dance moves (lead singer from Affairs certainly won't be winning Got To Dance anytime soon).
Affairs opened the evening which i believe they've done a couple of times @ Fruit in Hull what with them being local lads and got the evening off to a quality start. Every member had a big part to play in their sound coming out as a very majestic and well constructed almost orchestral bellow that well transcended their youthful years. 'Cressida' and 'Contact' ones to look out for.
Le Bete Blooms then brought a rather little bit more of a grungey/punk-ish feel to proceedings with the lead singer ripping hell out of his guitar in the middle of the crowd, scaring half to death a couple of young lasses near the front (priceless facial expressions of horror). With a bass player that is the spit of one of the cops from Superbad (not seth rogen the other guy) and apparently a missing female member on the evening, they came across having an eclectic mix of personalities. The lead singer gave me a mix tape after the gig which i have no way of playing but thought was pretty cool of him to just have in his pocket in case of emergencies haha nice guy aswell.
Both bands might be at the forefront of some of the investment coming Hull's way with the City of Culture bid won and fast impending in the next few years so i'll be excited to see how far they can take themselves riding that wave maybe if they play their cards right.

Sounds of 2014 - #15 - Jaws
Jaws have been in the shadows of Peace and Swim Deep ever since they came onto the scene, but biding their time, relentlessly touring and playing festivals all year has made them one of the hottest acts in the UK right now! With Zane Lowe no less loving their work and Huw Stephens repeatedly playing their work too!
They've been a band I've been into since the demo CD, and I'm not saying that, I actually do have it! They've been rising with the B-Town scene, but recently they've been lagging behind. But this performance will push them back into the spotlight, with their "Milkshake" EP already out and their single "Gold" out as well, now is the time to jump on the band-wagon, check out "Gold" below to see why we've been following them for so long!

Ones to watch at Reading Festival 2013 - Top 10
The same as last year, but all rammed into one gorgeous post! Here we choose the best 10 bands to watch at this years festival (same for Leeds obviously).
1 - As Elephants Are
They've got a lot of hype around them on the back of their last single "Lucifer" and "Youth Blood". with a new single coming up that's surely going to be played on the Radio all over the UK this is going to be a prime place to check out one of the hottest bands around!

We're so in love with this band we've even booked them for a show back in January! While most bands hide behind a façade Casablanca are one of those bands that play great music and are awesome guys to be around. If you imagine Phoenix crossed with early Bloc Party and the upbeat Bombay Bicycle Club songs then you (in a nut-shell) have Casablanca. You can download their latest track "We Could Forever" below!

We've mentioned him here before, and Callum Burrows band shall be gracing the stage this year at Reading. We've been banging on about Fenech-Soler since day one of this blog/website, and after seeing them five or so times we still enjoy their sound. What's more is that they'll be showcasing new material from their forthcoming album "Rituals". With VERY favourable reviews coming in regarding their latest single "Magnetic". They're unafraid to embrace their pop side, the band marry big bouncy beats, chanting vocals, epic guitars and Hoover-style synth rushes that make you feel like you're on a rollercoaster.

5 - Stay Positive
We've dubbed them the new Crystal Castles, but that may be a bit unfair as Stay Positive have much more going for them. The London producer is a classicaly trained violinist but that doesn't hold him back from making massive dance tunes that'll wake you up from the dead! The track below is what we love about them the most, get ready for a messy start to your day!

6 - Is Tropical
After they've revealed their masks the band have (if anything) become a whole lot better! This point is made with their track "Dancing Anymore". After the massive hype around their first album and the worldwide success of it, they're now going to be playing tunes off their 2nd LP. After being booked to play in Mongolia this appearance might be a bit too straight forward for them! But one thing is for sure, it's going to be fun to see the trio again!

Jaws, a band I've been into since the demo CD, and I'm not saying that, I actually do have it! They've been rising with the B-Town scene, but recently they've been lagging behind. But this performance will push them back into the spotlight, with their "Milkshake" EP already out and their single "Gold" out as well, now is the time to jump on the band-wagon, check out "Gold" below to see why we've been following them for so long! After seeing them support White Lies and Wild Beasts back in 2010 we've been keeping a close eye on the Leamington-Spa band. And when "All Eyes" dropped last year we knew that they were going to strike gold with their album.

A band that has suddenly appeared on our radar a few months ago, the London band have caught the eyes of everyone in the music industry. They comprise of four fresh-faced young lads who master the art of shoegaze summer rock. Their live show is full of melodies and woozy innocence akin to The Stone Roses but with less swagger. Again like Wolf Alice, being advertised as one of the hottest guitar bands around and with little to give on the internet, they have a lot to give at their live shows and it’s not to be missed.

They've got a lot of hype around them on the back of their last single "Lucifer" and "Youth Blood". with a new single coming up that's surely going to be played on the Radio all over the UK this is going to be a prime place to check out one of the hottest bands around!

2 - Casablanca
We're so in love with this band we've even booked them for a show back in January! While most bands hide behind a façade Casablanca are one of those bands that play great music and are awesome guys to be around. If you imagine Phoenix crossed with early Bloc Party and the upbeat Bombay Bicycle Club songs then you (in a nut-shell) have Casablanca. You can download their latest track "We Could Forever" below!

3 - Saint Raymond
We've mentioned him here before, and Callum Burrows band shall be gracing the stage this year at Reading. Quite an achievement for him considering how young he is!After being touted as the next Jake Bugg, touring with Gabrielle Aplin and Lewis Watson and performing at such festivals as The Great Escape he is certainly a talent to keep an eye on! Check out his track "Everything SHe Wants" below.

Top 10 bands to watch at Beacons Festival 2013
10 Bands To Look Out For At Beacons Festival 2013
Beacons Festival takes place over the weekend starting 16th August near the town of Skipton in North Yorkshire, and is a well respected local pilgrimage for northerners. The beauty of the festival is that it showcases lesser known acts, at a much cheaper price, but acts that have a lot of potential that usually go on to bigger and better things. Some say it’s hipster, some say it’s indie. Look at it as you wish, but you can’t deny the facts of the incredible line-up and fantastic atmosphere.
This year headliners include established acts such as Bonobo, Local Natives and Django Django; along with special guests including SBTRKT, John Talabot and ‘one of the most unique figures in rap’ - Danny Brown. Beside acts like this include up-and-coming and fast rising bands and performers like Gabriel Bruce, Dutch Uncles, Ben UFO, Temples, Eats Everything and infamous cult heroines Savages.
However, here is my list of the 10 (probably even lesser known) bands to check out at this year’s festival – having only seen two of them myself; it’s bound to be a cracking weekend.
1. Drenge
Eoin and Rory Loveless hail from the White Stripes school of bluesy punk rock music: orchestrating noise from the simplicity of a drum kit, guitar and mic. This time making it angrier which is demonstrated by song titles such as ‘I Wanna Break You In Half’ and ‘People In Love Make Me Feel Yuck’. Debut single ‘Bloodsports’ was released in March 2013; and shows how these guys look set to give the likes of the Black Keys a fierce run for their money.
2. Wolf Alice
The new quartet (formerly only a trio), lead by Ellie Rowsell, are one of London’s hottest new guitar acts and have a swelling fan base. With only a few officially recorded songs available including personal favourite ‘Bros’, their popularity is undoubtedly down to their live show and it is not to be missed this summer. Expect blinding guitars, changing genres (from grunge to mellow rock) and a kind of intimacy from Rowsell’s sweet, understated vocals.

After stowing themselves away for a while to relieve pressure of a self-induced cloud of hype, the mysterious band have emerged with a sell-out single ‘Blue Velvet’ (released on House Anxiety) and a near perfect, rich and dreamy live show full of melodies and woozy innocence akin to The Stone Roses but with less swagger. Again like Wolf Alice, being advertised as one of the hottest guitar bands around and with little to give on the internet, they have a lot to give at their live shows and it’s not to be missed.
4. JAWS
These ‘surf-poppers’ from Birmingham have quite the following and buzz despite being relatively new – with a number of sell out shows under their belt. Being described as ‘the ultimate chill-out band’ and with tunes such as ‘Surround You’, they are a must see band this summer and will without a doubt bring some of that summer vibe we are all loving at the minute.
5. Bondax
Bondax’s evocative music seems to glide between urban sonic landscapes, avoiding classification. It has tinges of Disclosure but without the easy Radio 1 likeness; while incorporating elements of Post-Dubstep, R&B, and garage. The duo from Lancaster have crafted an intimate, electronic and blissful live show that reveals something new with each play. Despite the fact that Adam and George are still enjoying their teens, their music shimmers with a maturity and sophistication that belies their age; and with a fast selling headline tour for later on in the year, it is imperative you don’t miss this ate night slot.
6. Menace Beach
You know you’ve stumbled upon something worth paying attention to when you’re in love with a band before they’ve even managed to play a dozen shows. There’s been no time to dwell on things for Menace Beach; after a brief but enjoyable debut, they’ve now released the double A-side ‘Drop Outs’ and ‘Bad Medicine’ - it’s proof enough that Ryan, Liza and their band of merry cohorts (members of Hookworms and Sky Larkin have recently bolstered the line-up – both separately ones to watch out for themselves at the festival) have the elixir of dirty pop intellect radiating from every pore.
7. Department M
After pulling together after the fall of Grammatics, Owen Brinley has returned with the mysterious and captivating Department M. Maintaining the melodic ambition and creativity, the Leeds magician this time brings an undeniably worthwhile show (that’s hard to pin down and directly describe) that will surely flourish under festival conditions.
8. Thumpers
Being named as future support to Chvrches on their tour later this year, Thumpers are gaining momentum through this summer period with their kaleidoscope sound. Bringing memories in alt-pop form, the band prosper in catchy, buoyant and layered drums and synth. All this merged with androgynous vocals and shimmering guitars makes a dynamic that is perfect for a keen crowd.
9. Dan Croll
At the tender age of 22, Dan Croll has already attended the Paul McCartney-founded LIPA, won the Musicians Benevolent Fund’s Songwriter of the Year award and got a helpful leg-up from Communion Records pretty early on in his career. But don’t hate him because he’s gifted, the guy’s got something about him. Sounding a little like a more modernized, sophisticated Tom Vek, he merges folk templates with electronic instrumentation, always an alluring melody at its core – represented by lead song ‘Compliment Your Soul’.
10. Vondelpark
R&S Records signings Vondelpark fall somewhere between the forceful soulfulness of Twin Shadow and the introspective gloom of The XX. The band have released their debut album ‘Seabed’ this year in a world where instant indulgence reigns supreme. The albm provides some musical down-time; a holiday from the rat race. Slick and sultry downbeat electro pop that’s not afraid to get serious.

Jaws are set to go on a UK-wide tour after the festival season is over, this'll see them take in the sights of the up and coming scene in Banbury as well as established haunts such as Leeds, Manchester and of course London. Jaws unveil new single "Gold"
New single from Birmingham based Jaws is called "Gold", and it stays true to the bands trademark knack for effortlessly infectious and breezy garage pop, with a noticeably new-found sense of urgency in it's soaring vocals and incendiary dynamics.
