It's All Indie: Top 20 - #5

Two Door Cinema Club - I Can Talk

The trio wisely decide to use their youthful exuberances for the rest of the record. Listening to the likes of the thrillingly optimistic 'I Can Talk'.Another release from the prolific Kitsuné label... Two Door Cinema Club return with their second single, taking NME dance floors by storm with their guitar based dance pop and it’s insanely catchy.

This was the second single from Two Door Cinema Club it came with a wave of 2010 hype and BBC Sound of 2010 commendations, such is its melding of what is popular both in mainstream circles and the indie ‘underground’. The opening salvo is reminiscent of Delphics' 'Doubt' before a crisp riff announces the start of the song itself. The chorus’ instrumentation is owed to a shimmering tremolo and mechanical drumming interloping with Alex Trimble’s delicate-yet-somehow-powerful vocal; he sounds like a particularly impassioned 15 year old whose voice is only just settling into its male state, still able to reach pre voice breaking highs.

Track of the day... Two Door Cinema Club - Come Back Home

Three piece Two Door Cinema Club's new single 'Come Back Home' is a track that will be sure to get you on your feet this summer. In December 2009 the band were featured in the BBC's Sound Of 2010 Poll and they sure have lived up to that. The track itself is real catchy just like previous singles 'Undercover Martyn' and 'Something Good Can Work'.

The band have produced a great Indie dance record with this new single and the same kind of feel is going on throughout the whole album, definitely one to buy. From their short raise to fame TDCC are sure to go onto bigger a better things, they are playing loads of festival's this summer so if you have yet to see or hear them, check them out.

'Come Back Home' is released on 12th July 2010 on 7" vinyl and digital package, and is backed by remixes from Is Tropical, Myd and Keith & Supabeatz.

Track of the day... Fenech-Soler - Black Keys

Ok, it's from their demos collection but still, this is by far one of my most played tracks of this week!

If you want to just get told what it sounds like, try Digitalism - Pogo but with a but more heart put into it, and recorded in their bedroom. Starts off slow with a synth and a bass. Kicks in with a deep guitar and vocals follow. The combination of those are just brillaint. The chorus (obviosuly) follows after a drop in the volume, kicks in with full effect!

This can easily be in a nightclub and would be brilliant to see live as they seem to have such energy and heart put into their songs. Thier latest offerings, Stop And Stare and Lies are also just as brilliant but the point of this blog is not to find the obvious bangers but to find the ones people are not aware of.
