Marsicans have released the video for, new single, Swimming, which is also released on digital platforms today (April 22nd).
Having released Arms of Another in January, and exclusively premiered the video here on It's All Indie, Marsicans are preparing us for the summer with their second single. Brightening up the melodies once again, Swimming offers a prominent guitar-based melody with a mist of indie-pop to create a sturdy anthem for the season that's almost upon us.

Released on Love vs Fear Records, the newly released song reinstates everything that we loved about Marsicans when we first head them. The juxtapositions between melodies and lyrics, the soothing vocals of lead vocalist James, accompanied by applaudable harmonies with guitarist, Oli, and bassist, Rob, who also takes lead with keys. With a chorus that is instantly stuck in your head, Swimming is the Leeds band's strongest performance to date - a sense of maturity, progression and a strong connection with their musicianship shines through like never before. Speaking to other publications, Rob has said that the band "have realised how much of ourselves we have to put in to this." -something that has started to control their musical output and see them growing ever stronger.

Long gone are the days I could catch Marsicans on a decent sized stage, be down the front with ease and dance like an idiot. Well actually I can still catch them on decent size stages and dance like an idiot... getting near the front is going to become an ever increasing problem though (unfortunately for selfish fans like me).
New hit 'Arms of Another' is a jewel in their crown that will no doubt endure them to more fans. With an instant tone of maybe more grown up themes and maturity than previous outings, the lads have landed themselves a tune that deserves to be going round and round on your ipods.

The chaps find themselves playing some rather cool shows in the near future (see above) and also have also bagged a slot at Kendal Calling Festival. If you see them live at any of these you WILL dance & you WILL love them. If not then write me a strongly worded letter explaining why then i'll reply trying to change your mind.

The Leeds-based indie quartet have given us an exclusive look at their brand new video and we can now reveal it to you!
Describing themselves as "upbeat indie that meets dirty pop", Marsicans manage to capture a tropical, sun-kissed melody once again in Arms of Another but subsequently also going on to create similarities to old school indie bands like The Maccabees too. The single is just another promising release from a band who have been putting their foot in the door for a very long time - we managed to stumble across this band at the BBC Introducing stage at Reading Festival four years ago.
The video offers a fly-on-the-wall kind of approach following the band through many live gigs and capturing any of those key backstage moments. It's clear from the video that the band are starting to become their own more than ever and are building on the identity that so perfectly fits for them. Giving the sense that this is a new chapter in the band's career, Arms of Another and its video seems celebratory and fulfilling, though it's about the new for human need and companionship. Take your time to listen to the lyrics and you'll hear James Newbigging telling a story in a unique, unfiltered way.
Arms of Another is released on January 29th through Love vs Fear records. It is confirmed that Marsicans have a series of releases set for 2016 but there's no better way to kick it off than with this song which can clearly hold the lead.
Take a few minutes out of your day to watch this video and get to know one of the best Leeds bands around. There's a reason we have been keeping our eye on them for four years.

"You've got nothing to lose" is not only is a lyric from their track 'imbroglio' but is also more than likely a message from the Leeds lads to check them out. Have seen these lads a couple of times and have been impressed each time that their clear lack of fear (which probably comes with their youth) makes for a good little live performance, although i did look daft dancing on my own in the Cockpit, Leeds, but they got me moving which can only be a good sign surely.
Previous gigs at Live At Leeds and the BBC Introducing stage at R+L means they're cutting their teeth on some iconic stages and with experience will no doubt come more confidence. Forgot to mention aswell that they're genuinely nice lads after chatting to them at a charity event they were very down to earth and thankful for the support that I, as a fan, had driven more than an hour to just see them live... possibly dumbfounded from their stumbling responses but at least they're not arrogant. Worth a listen? I say "You've got nothing to lose".

Marsicans are an 'Indie-Pop' four-piece band from Leeds and As runners up in the Futuresound competition the band have secured themselves a place on the BBC Introducing Stage. If you're into Little Comets be sure to check these guys out first, they're one of the first bands to play the Reading Festival with a start of 11:40, so do check them out before the field becomes a mud pit
On their soundcloud they've got their EP available to stream and their latest single called 'Hands', I've known about these guys for a while now and I'm sure they will not let you down when you go over and see them on Friday!
