The track has such a drive to it, so punchy and so catchy. The distorted guitars down to the click track, it's all addictive, expect to see LOOP on the rise!

[LISTEN] Zak Abel - Everybody Needs Love

We loved Zak's track "Running From Myself" and his latest cut is just as catchy. "Everybody Needs Love" is the perfect blend of R&B, Soul and Funk, it really does sound like Pharrell Williams wrote this song, it's got festivals written all over it. With some great chanting in the chorus "everybody needs love love love love",  the track plays with your ears as even some strings are introduced.

Zak is really on the ball with this one, a cross genre epic!

[LISTEN] Melissa Allenby - Slow

When a Spring day is winding down, and the sun is setting, sometimes you don't want everything to be as go-go-go as it was. Sometimes, you need to chill out and slow down, and Melissa Allenby is the perfect artist for that.

Slow is the follow-up to previous singles You Know and All Night, both of which are fantastic opening singles. You Know a superbly graceful vocal on a chilled-out RnB backdrop, and All Night a higher tempo beat but the same superb vocals.

 A glittering piano combined with a RnB beat makes for the perfect setting for Melissa to showcase her phenomenal range, and that she does. Slow is a stunningly serene piece of music from an artist just discovering how good she is, and it's a joy to listen to.

There's a magical ebb and flow to Slow, and it's a gloriously polished piece of music from a new artist. Already featured on BBC Introducing, 2016 could be the year that Melissa Allenby finds the audience her astonishing talent deserves.

[LISTEN] The Electric Sons - Hold On, We're Going Home (Drake Cover)

The Electric Sons have covered Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" with an added bonus, some elements of Odesza's "Bloom" for good measure. It's one of those covers that just stands out from the rest, it's big and bold and has some seriously good production behind it.

[LISTEN] Mura Masa - What If I Go?

The Guernsey born producer has dropped a new track in the run up to his début album. "What If I Go?" is the latest offering which features BONZAI on vocals, and has a great blend of genres on it, from Hip-Hop to RnB to Chillout via Indie, all with a dash of Caribbean steel-drums, it just gets better!

[TRACK OF THE WEEK] LOOP - Love Bites

Loop is a the latest singer-songwriter to come storming out of the blocks, based in South London she's been working hard on her début single and "Love Bites" just screams huge potential. The genre is slightly hard to pigeon-hole but if you think of some spacey-electro-pop crossed with chillout RnB that's "Love Bites" all over, add in some slick production it's got 'future hit' written all over it.

With nods to Banks and Wet via SBTRKT, she seems to know how to write a catchy track, with some crisp instrumental work, the RnB vibes and her pitch perfect vocals are all laced with pop sensibilities are just yearning to be heard by the masses. She's now riding off the waves of her track and will be pushing for more of the same in 2016, and by the sounds of it she's off to an amazing start.

Rationale shares video for 'Fast Lane'

Mysterious London-based artist Rationale has revealed the video to accompany hit track 'Fast Lane'. The clip, directed by Luke Monaghan is a surrealist interpretation on the struggles of daily life. Although the song is called 'Fast Lane', the footage is ironically expressed in more of a slow-motion feel, ideally accompanying the laid back sentiment of the track. Rationale's voice is most definitely one that is unique and instantly recognisable, which also provides an elegant timbre to the chilled out r'n'b tune.

Rationale plays his debut headline show on the 29th October at The Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton. Check out the brilliantly filmed video below!

[LISTEN] Club Kuru - Layla

Club Kuru is back with another RnB flavoured alt-electro-pop gem, the track is very sexy yet sleazy and has some wonderful licks of synths laced all over it. "Layla" is taken from the "Layla EP" which is out on Believe Recordings on the 27th November.

"Layla" is a pop record built atop a foundation of structural and harmonic complexity, full of meaning, and deserving of time spent getting to know.

Ellie Goulding covers Jack Garratt's "Weathered" in BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

After Jack Garratt covered Disclosure, one of his tracks got covered by none other than Ellie Goulding, she popped on down to do a take on his track "Weathered" - keeping true to the song it's still just as folky but now has a hint of country and RnB to it.

Arctic Monkeys' "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High" gets covered by Naughty Boy

Naughty Boy featuring Little Simz and Tom Prior cover the Arctic Monkeys' "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High" in the Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1 and Clara Amfo, you hardly see Naughty Boy in the video but none the less it's a very unique take on the track.

Arctic Monkeys fan need to take this cover with a pinch of salt, but wait until the latter half of the track, it's very "AM", trust me!

[TRACK OF THE WEEK] Amethysts - Alone

Amethysts are one of the latest bands to be breaking out of East Anglia at the moment, with the band straddling the border of Essex and Suffolk they've even got both BBC Introducing stations very excited about their début track "Alone", and we can see why.

"Alone" is a dark-pop track with some gorgeous harmonics, howling backing tracks and is all wrapped in a RnB style drum-beat and sumptuous licks of guitars, we can easily say that this is by far one of the best début tracks of 2015. In ancient Greek " Amethysts" is a violet variety of quartz often used in jewellery, and it's to be believed that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. Personally saying, I'd love to get drunk to this song, it's a chillout classic of the 21st century!

Georgia Buchanan reveals striking video for "Intentions" [IAI PREMIÈRE]

Today we've got Georgia Buchanan's brand new video for "Intentions", the follow up to her début self-released track "Sinners", which we loved! Hailing a stones throw away from Disclosure, Georgia is the latest export to come out from South West London, just think of a UK version of Banks but with bigger and more anthematic tunes!

The truly independent artist who recently worked with De$ignated has teamed up with producer Oliver Leonard for her 2nd single. Georgia tells us "It is essentially a song about frustration and wasted love - he is desperate to turn them into something they're not and in turn is ruining what they have."

The promo was directed and produced by Charle and Jordan at Fraction Films. It's a very simplistic stripped back video to echo the style of the song - "I am singing straight to camera as if I am singing straight to the boy, imploring him to listen. As the music and the frustration escalate, so do the visuals, until it hits breaking point and we see red." Georgia says.

An EP is due to follow in spring/summer 2016 and some exciting features to be announced, along with a string of live shows in 2016.

[LISTEN] Haim - 'Cause I'm A Man (Tame Impala Cover)

Tame Impala have today revealed a 'Haim Remix' of "'Casuse I'm A Man", but it's basically a cover of the track by the sisterly trio. The track was premièred via Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show earlier on today.

It's more of a reworking/remix rather a cover, but do let us know what you think of it!

[LISTEN] RITUAL - JOSEPHINE feat. Lisa Hannigan

RITUAL have shared a brand new cut - "Josephine". It's the lead single from their forthcoming second EP "From The City To The Wilderness" and it features some smooth vocals from Lisa Hannigan with gives the RnB flavoured track an added dimension.
 

The track is a marriage of RnB, with some Folk elements combined with some ambient cues - it's certainly one of the best tracks we've heard within the past month. This track deserves to be played all over the radio and based on this cut alone, RITUAL can easily sell some pretty big venues, 2016 sounds like a good year for them.

One of the best up-and-coming stars in RnB music has covered the Punk's trio "Hey" in the Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1XTRA - Miguel's new album, "Wildheart", is out June 29. - I wonder what Slaves think of it!

Thomston reveals new track "Expiry Date"

With over 6 million streams on Spotify alone, the new signing by Lorde's manager is on course to be bigger than Lorde herself. We've been a fan of Thomston's for a while, and his new track comes just days before his first ever European and UK dates which starts this week. Being only 19 he has his whole future ahead of himself, and with his blend of RnB, Pop and Chillout elements, he's going to be taking the world by storm in the coming years!

Describing "Expiry Date", Thomston writes: "When I released my first EP I was a nervous wreck. I couldn’t sleep and I didn’t eat much. So my manager booked me a day in studio, told me to turn off my Wi-Fi and focus on making a song to take my mind off things. "Expiry Date" is all the things about this job that terrifies me. It’s the idea that pop stars have a shelf-life, the prospect of losing everything you worked for, but it’s also a promise to everyone on my team that I will work as hard as I can."

Thomston reveals new track "Grey"

We 'Introduced' you to Thomston a couple of weeks back, and now the newcomer from New Zealand has a brand new RnB flavoured cut from his new EP. His new EP - "Backbone" - is out April 6th, and this track just confirms that he is going to be hot property this year!

RITUAL covers Lucy Rose's "Middle Of The Bed"

RITUAL are an Electronic/RnB three piece from London, who released their début EP "The Fall" late last year to widespread acclaim, and now they've also released a stripped down cover of Lucy Rose's single "Middle of the Bed". It's a far cry genre-wise from the original but they've managed to keep the excitement of the track intact, with the very soulful vocals and simple electro beats it's up there with the best of covers!

Youth Club unveil new single "People"

Four piece band Youth Club are set to release "People" – taken from the self produced EP "BROTHERS" - through Lab Records (Fort Hope, Young Kato) this March. Sounding like long lost brothers of Phoenix and Two Door Cinema Club, their music mixes guitar licks, electronic keys and RnB vocals to create crisp, dance orientated pop.

KOBA shares new track "Dressed In Black"

KOBA are an Anglo Scottish 4 piece located in Scotland. Taking influence from their surroundings they manage to produce their own take on, undoubtedly British, RnB. A darker electronic sound with gritty production helps them stand out from the rest. February will see the release of their first Double A side single, "Dressed in Black"/"79 Weeks".
