The Libertines officially confirm reunion and release Hyde Park details (ticket links)

The Libertines have this morning officially confirmed that they will reunite for a summer show in London's Hyde Park.

The long awaited confirmation comes after a week of endless speculation and rumours - predominantly fuelled by an array of hints and clues released by both the band members and their social media sites.

Finally breaking the news just moments ago, the four-pieice wrote on their Facebook page, ''THE GOOD SHIP ALBION IS SETTING SAIL SOONER THAN YOU THOUGHT. We're HEADLINING BST Hyde Park, 5th July.''

You can read more about how the band slowly but surely drip fed fans the news of their comeback via  Carl Barat says 'keep July 5th free' and  The Libertines to reunite for Hyde Park shows?

The London band, who last played together when they reunited back in 2010 to play at the Reading and Leeds festivals, have also released the full event details - including the gigs line-up and ticket release date.

Tickets will go on sale on May 2nd but can be pre-ordered as of Monday from The Libertines Hyde Park Tickets Pre-Order.

Late last night, both Georgehenryking.com and Itsallindie.com were some of the first to break the news of the Hyde Park shows rumoured line-up as well as an early reunion confirmation after the following information (see imagine below), was quietly placed on the ticket part of NME.com - who appeared to refrain from publicising it.

BREAKING: THE LIBERTINES HYDE PARK REUNION GIG CONFIRMED AND RUMOURED LINE-UP

After days of endless speculation following a series of subtle  yet somewhat obvious hints from both the band members and their social media sites, it appears The Libertines WILL play Hyde Park this Summer - and here is why I am so confident in saying so...

RUMOURED LINE-UP:
The Libertines
The Enemy
The Pogues
Reverend and the Makers
The Twang
The View

The almost certain confirmation of the reunion comes after Carl Barât subliminally confirmed The Libertines will reunite for a show at London's Hyde Park, after recently suggesting that fans ''keep the 5th July free.''

The Libertines co-frontman is reported to have told Gigslutz that it is now "very much a possibility" that the band will reform.

Talking of the potentional reunion during his recent DJ set at the KPH in Ladbrokes Grove, Barât allegedly said ''keep 5th July free'', after being pushed for a live show date.

The initial speculation amongst fans however was first initiated over the weekend after a status saying, ‘Albion?’ was shared on the band’s official Facebook page.

The possibility of The Libertines reforming was then made even more likely after an image of Hyde Park was also posted on the London bands social media site.

Carl Barâts comments follow a series of reunion implications from fellow frontman Pete Doherty.
