Morrissey is about to record another album

As the saga from Morrissey's 2014's 'has he been dropped, hasn't he?' slows down, it's come of no surprise really that the former Smiths man is about to record another LP. As the Morrissey-Solo fan site points out, Moz has claimed, in an interview with the Serbian site B92, that he’ll begin recording a new album in February.

The release of the next Morrissey album can’t possibly go worse than the last one after Harvest Records pulled his record from sale and streaming sites... can it?

Morrissey to release new album this year - CONFIRMED

After a five year break Morrissey has confirmed plans to release a new album this year. It actually comes via a statement from Harvest Records confirming that they've reached an agreement to release an album in the second half of 2014.

Morrissey - "I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia"

In yet another rant about stuff that only seems to matter to him, he has said in a recent fan forum interview that ... "I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia," in his typically messed up way. "They are both rape, violence, murder. If I’m introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away."

He is currently writing an album and a novel too.

Morrissey confirms he is working on new album and has 'no interest in The Smiths'

Amongst the recent hysteria and somewhat unsurprising success of Morrissey's 2013 auto-biographical debut effort, it's hard to see how the former frontman of The Smiths has had the time to even contemplate the idea of finally getting around to writing the follow-up to 2009's 'Years Of Refusal'.

However, during a fan Q&A session that the singer recently took part in for official fan site, 'True To You', Morrissey revealed that he and his backing band are about to return to the studio and record a new album - with one particular new song, entitled 'Istanbul', already guaranteed a place on the albums track-listing."Well, we are about to record our new album, and one of the tracks is called 'Istanbul' he said. Adding to this further, Morrissey then went on to explain the reason behind the track: ''It is second to Rome as my most favorite city in the world. When I'm in Istanbul I feel as if I could never die. My life is matched."

New album but no new interest in re-uniting The Smiths
After the pure illation of exclusively finding out about his new album though, fans taking part in the same Q&A session were soon hit with an ounce of despair after the idea of The Smiths re-uniting was once again, yet suspectedly, dismissed: "As an entity, I have no interest in the Smiths, so as long as I’m not asked about the Smiths, I won’t slip into permanent unconsciousness. And that’s a promise."

Although there are currently no concrete dates set for the release of Morrisseys new album, it is heavily rumoured to hit the shelves in late 2014.
