The Dublin based band have shared a ferocious new track in the shape of "Yeah, I Know", it's lifted off their forthcoming EP "The New Vice", which drops on the 17th of June. 2016 so far is shaping up as a great year for the band as their hype just keeps on building and building, the grungy track sets in stone the fact that they're going all out on their new tracks. Fast and furious with a hint of The Strokes, we're loving this!

[LISTEN] SuperGlu - Rounder

SuperGlu have today revealed the lead track from their début EP - "Rounder" - and have it backed up by a UK-wide tour! Formed in 2014 by two Bens (Brown and Ward), Brown's brother Alex and girlfriend Krista Lynch, SuperGlu are a garage pop four-piece from Manningtree, Essex. They’ve been championed by Amazing Tunes and BBC Introducing's Huw Stephens, who broadcast their first demo on Radio One in October 2014!

We're a big fan of theirs - as you might know - but this is their biggest track yet, with big and bold guitars the band have shared their most exciting track so far. Their debut EP - "Horse" - is out 24th of February via Antigen Records.

Wolf Alice cover "Steal My Girl" by One Direction for BBC Radio 1

Wolf Alice have covered "Steal My Girl" by One Direction for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge as a part of their birthday celebrations. It obviously is a lot different compared to 1D's version but the track is a lot heavier and grungier than anything off their début LP - My Love Is Cool".

[SINGLE REVIEW] Palehound - Healthier Folk

The slacker-tsunami originating circa late 2013 shows no sign of slowing up, especially with cuts like this from Boston trio Palehound coming thick and fast. “Healthier Folk”, released on Exploding in Sound Records, is pure Pavement via Elliott Smith, with a sprinkling of Silver Jews thrown in for good measure. A song about “people generally being not nice” according to the band’s Facebook page, there is a solemn thread throughout the track, yet still the nonchalant and lackadaisical way it is delivered articulates loud and clear that they can’t be bothered to care about these kill-joys. The production value is low, but not in the scuzzy punky sense, rather in the ‘we’ve only got one microphone, but whatever…’ school; this actually lends a certain intimacy to what is essentially a soft rock song.

Whilst the stumbling and chaotic guitar solo towards the end is reminiscent of Wowee Zowee era Stephen Malkmus, there are also contemporary comparisons to be made. The one that stands out most clearly is to fellow slacker-indie stalwarts Speedy Ortiz- if you squint your ears the vocals are almost indistinguishable from Sadie Dupuis’s off-kilter delivery. Furthermore, fans of NZ shoegazer Shunkan or Welsh weirdos Radstewart will find something to enjoy from this track. Combining an undoubtedly 90s feel with the cutting edge sounds coming from lo-fi groups the world over Palehound are worthy members of this lazy corner of the indie scene. Also, at the end of the day, it’s just a really nice track to listen to, with real emotion shining through.

JAWS unveil video for "Bad Company"

JAWS have today unveiled the video for their latest single, "Bad Company", which is a real departure from their work on their first LP.With the band already in the studio finishing things off for their follow-up, which we're expecting to be a lot heavier, much like the video below.

Director Richard Manning says - "Connor’s lyrics relate to isolation and a feeling of disconnection to the world during adolescence. I wanted to portray this view through stark locations and the subject’s idiosyncratic yet melancholic view on life."

Track of the week... Swim Deep - King City

With so many bands being hyped for 2012, I can't believe this amazing band from Birmingham slipped through the net. They unleashed this track on the world just last week and ever since we've been craving it over and over again!

"I wanna be everything I'm not, I wanna be rich I want to show off"

Having picked up this weeks edition of NME, I was very surprised to see Swim Deep as their 'Buzz band of the week', not that they're a rubbish band, but I didn't think NME still cared about small bands such as Swim Deep. I first heard them after I finished watching the 'Peace - Bblood' on YouTube, coincidently these two bands are friends, and their latest track beats 'Bblood' by a mile! The song initially reminded me of the sounds of an early Is Tropical, but these guys are more than that. The first verse opens out and unfolds before you and you instantly fall in love with the guitar tones and pulsating bass. The chorus then wins you over with the urgency of it all. Swim Deep has seem to have stuck gold with their latest effort, I can see them having a very productive 2012 if they keep on producing great tracks such as this one!
