Now even if you're not a fan of Tom Odell you might like this remix of his latest track "Magnetised". It's down to the great skills of Tube and Berger, it's a down and dirty industrial sounding electro track which has 2am written all over it!

Tom Odell releases video for single "Magnetised"

Tom Odell today releases ‘Magnetised’, the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Wrong Crowd’, out on June 10 via Columbia Records. 

The rousing new single features a driving drumbeat and soaring chorus, showcasing the progression of Tom’s, whilst still channelling the raw emotion and honesty his song writing is known for.

The video for “Magnetised”, filmed in South Africa, is a continuation of the ‘Wrong Crowd’ video that was released earlier this month. The highly anticipated new album ‘Wrong Crowd’, available to pre-order now, is the follow up to 2013’s million selling, number 1 record “Long Way Down”, a record that led to Tom being given the highly prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year. “Wrong Crowd” consists of 11 new songs; a deluxe edition of the album featuring four extra tracks will also be available. Upon pre-order of the album, the title track will be instantly available to download.

 

Tom Odell returns with new video for "Wrong Crowd"

Tom Odell is back, and the Brit Critic's Choice winner of 2013 has clearly been working hard over the past 4 years since his début track "Another Love" was released. It looks like and sounds like he's taken a leaf out of his good friend Rae Morris' book, keeping some piano in the mix but generally turning up the tempo and making it more upbeat.

It's one of his darkest tracks yet, and is the first song to be lifted from his new album, also called "Wrong Crowd". The album is released June 10th via ITNO/Columbia.

Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Odell join the line-up for MTV Crashes Coventry

MTV UK today announced that Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Odell will join Chase & Status for Day One of MTV Crashes Coventry on May 27th! Club MTV will close the two-day event for a stadium shattering finale with a second night of dance anthems and huge hits on May 28th, acts to be announced next week.

Kaiser Chiefs said: "We can’t wait to crash Coventry! We played MTV Crashes Plymouth two years ago and it was amazing, we are so excited to do it all over again this year!"

ITNO label - home to Tom Odell - shuts down

The Sun has reported that the label ran by Lily Allen is no more - with Tom Odell now moving to Columbia records. Lily Allen still remains signed to Parlophone. The label saw the release of Odell's début album as well as releases from Cults.

A source said that - "She hoped by now to have an array of top talent on her roster but it's quite the opposite. Three years is enough time to gauge success. It's just run its course."

Tom Odell working with Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger

As reported by the ever reliable The Line of Best Fit, Tom Odell is working with Ex-Pussycat Doll (and Lewis Hamilton's ex) Nicole Scherzinger. My money is on a duet (obviously), but to weather this'll be Tom being a featured vocalist on Nicole's new album or a new single by him is still yet unclear.

Rae Morris duets with Tom Odell - Watch "Grow" here!

Rae Morris has just unveiled a very special live video of her track Grow as a duet with BRIT’s Critics Choice winner Tom Odell. The track was recorded during their recent tour together, and was filmed live on stage in Nottingham.

Tom Odell's début album gets delayed + free Mp3

Speaking on facebook (and in fan-emails) Tom said that his album's going to be delayed by a few months, it read.

"Long Way Down is going to be released in the US this June. Things are going well over there and everyone who came to see me at SXSW was amazing. In Europe, Another Love has been in the top 10 in a few countries, which is awesome so we're going to put out the record across Europe too. Really happy about it all and thank you to everyone who's helped me get to this point."

He went on to say:

"The flipside of all this is that the UK release of Long Way Down needs to go back to June so Long Way Down demo that all the release dates across the world are the same. These days having different release dates would mean the album may end up getting leaked, which is not fair on all of you who paid for it. All your pre-orders are still valid of course and I'm really sorry to keep you waiting longer. Hope you understand it's for the right reasons, I'm sorry, but to keep you going until then here's a free download of the Long Way Down demo."

Indie dominates the longlist for BBC Sound of 2013 list

'Indie' music is dominating the BBC Sound of 2013 longlist this year, we all know how long it's been since the likes of Bloc Party, Editors, Wombats, Foals and fellow major Indie bands were dominating the airwaves.

It looks like that next year is going to be a big year for guitar music, and as per usual we've been egging on the bands for a long time! The 'Indie' bands in the list this year are, Chvrches, Haim, King Krule, Kodaline, Little Green Cars, Palma Violets, Peace, Savages and Tom Odell.

Track of the week... Tom Odell - Another Love

We recently posted about Tom and after listening to his EP once more we can't get over how powerful 'Another Love' is. The singer-songwriter is at his utter best with this song. Strong vocals caress the gentle piano keys, your heart just melts when you hear this heart felt song from the depths of London.

The song develops with choir-esque harmonies and more layers to the song giving it depth, the guitars in the background also help with the mood of the song, giving that the added wow factor. Tom Odell is a serious contender for a #1 album next year with his latest EP proving how good his talent is! But enough of that, give his track a listen here!

Sounds of 2013 - #18 - Tom Odell

Chris Martin and James Blake are among the many artists that we could list as having taken the piano from its classical foundations and made it into the modern music that everyone adores. And now, London based singer-songwriter Tom Odell is proving himself to be the latest piano man to wear his heart on his sleeve. His lastest EP - 'Songs From Another Love' - easily showcases his gentle yet powerful vocals alongside his heartbreakingly beautiful lyrics.

He's a singer-songwriter that has broke though on his own an has already signed to Lily Allen's label.  His voice if fragile yet powerful and he sings mainly love songs. Recently his accomplishments involve performing live on the Later... with Jools Holland show on BBC2. 2013 is set to be a huge year for him, keep an eye on this one!
