Arctic Monkeys to headline T in the Park 2014

Entering it's 21st year next summer, T in The Park 2014 will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys and will take place over the weekend of July 11 - 13.

The live music event, that is held in Balado, Kinross in Scotland was last year headlined by The Killers, Rihanna and Mumford and Sons and attracts more than 85,000 people each year. Festival Director Geoff Ellis is clearly over the moon to have secured such a huge act so early on and admitted that one of the main reasons for inviting Arctic Monkey's to headline next years festival was due to the phenomenal public demand.
"We're thrilled to announce Arctic Monkeys as our first headliners for T In The Park 2014. After this year's fantastic 20th year celebrations, we asked our audience who they'd like to see at next year's festival and Arctic Monkeys came top of the poll, so we're really pleased to be able to confirm them for T In The Park. He then went onto to add "When they take to the stage in Glasgow this week they'll prove exactly why they're one of the greatest live acts around, and I'm sure we can look forward to another phenomenal set at T In The Park".

Arctic Monkeys announced as first act for T in The Park 2014
The Sheffield four piece, whose reputation as a live band continues to grow after their incredible and perfectly executed Glastonbury headline set earlier this year, last headlined the Scottish festival just two years ago back in 2011 alongside Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Beyonce - and they appear to be looking forward to returning to the main stage."We are delighted to be playing T In The Park and look forward to a great night with our Scottish fans." the band said.

On top of the bands UK tour resuming this week after Alex Turner's spell with laryngitis forced the group to cancel a string of shows - Arctic Monkeys also announced two massive outdoor gigs set to take place next May in Finsbury Park. The band will be supported by Tame Impala, Miles Kane and Royal Blood and tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am - an hour after tickets for next years T in The Park festival are also due to go on sale.
